CNY Day 3
Started the day off with doing my translation homework before having noodles for brunch. Played Cluedo with my cousins for a while before we managed to dig out a mahjong set in the house. So...it was MAHJONG TIME!!!

My grandmother and me were the only ones who played mahjong for like 4 straight hours.

My cousins have never played mahjong before so my auntie and uncle helped them out.

In the end, we had 6 people playing mahjong. 4 players and 2 advisors. :D

Whilst we were playing mahjong, my sister went out to buy donuts where she queued for a half-an-hour! That popular ar! Then again, the donuts were good but they made me quite full and didnt eat alot for dinner. Spent the night packing my luggage.

CNY Day 4
Woke up at 5.55am to go to the airport. Had MacDonald's breakfast there. Had to check-in after breakfast and I was trying very hard to hold back my tears. Almost managed to do so until my sister said, 'Going to cry le.' Then...ya, the tears just came pouring out. Since we normally drive there, it's not so bad if I cry in the car because nobody's going to see...BUT...we were at the airport this time and it was so freaking paiseh because I was crying right in front of the immigration officer. Anyway, at the immigration counter for foreign passports, the officer talked to me in Malay...and I obviously did not understand him. Seriously, why talk in Malay if that counter's for FOREIGN passports?!

The flight back was comfortable but damn cold. As usual, only had a drink and no food. They had individual monitors for each passenger but...what's the use? Nothing but the flight information was played. So yup, my 2008 Malaysia trip basically ends here. :D

CNY Day 2
Like Day 1, I woke up late again and realised that there was no breakfast for me. My sister arrived from Penang today at around 1+ so I basically had the first meal of the day at around 2pm. After lunch, I basically lazed around the house again till my cousins asked if I wanted to go watch a movie or not. We looked through the movie listings together and this was how we ended up choosing the movie that we watched in the end.

Ying Qi: Kungfu Dunk?
Me and Wei Jie: (in unison) NOOOO!

Me: Sweeny Todd?
Wei Jie: Watched already le.
Ying Qi: Watch again lo.
Wei Jie: -_-
Me: Wait, I think Jiamin(my sister) watched before le.

Ying Qi: Clovefield?
Me: Dont want. People said that will feel very dizzy after watching lei.
Wei Jie: Yar lor.

Me: CJ7?
Wei Jie: Watching tomorrow with my friend.
Ying Qi: Watch again la.
Wei Jie: -_-

Wei Jie: Meet the Spartans? Sounds like a movie about war.
Me: Har...about war? Sounds sian lo.

While looking at the movie summary which said that it was written by two of the writers who wrote Scary Movie and Date Movie, I realised that instead of a war movie, it was a spoof movie. Hence, I agreed...because I love spoof movies. :D

The movie was M18 so while at the ticketing counter, the lady kept asking 'All 18?' but she didnt bother to check our IDs. :D Luckily she didnt check because one of my cousins was under 18. Hehe. After Wei Jie took the tickets, he just turned and was about to walk away when my sister reminded him that he has yet to pay. WTF...haha, the lady just stood stationary at the counter lo!

Smuggled A&W(my god! A&W in like what? More than 10 years?) into the cinema and my bag smelled like fried chicken after that. Great movie because it was funny but the irritating thing was that, some parts were censored. BOO. Then again, the tickets only cost me RM11 after counting in the booking fee so yup, it was cheap to me. Went shopping at Sunway Pyramid for 2 consecutive days. Bought this Ghibli DVD collection that cost me about RM30+. :D The one that they sell in Singpore costs like what...SGD$59.90?

Went home for dinner but couldnt eat much because...too much junk food in the stomach. :(

CNY Day 3
Once again, woke up late and had a late roti prata breakfast with my cousin. Less than 2 hours after we had breakfast, it was time for lunch. Went to 1Utama for shopping, hoping that we would 'accidentally' bump into Wei Jie who went there to watch a movie with a girl. Heh. I just realised that two of my guy cousins can drive lo...and they are all younger than me...I fail :(.

In preparation for the lion dance that we didnt watch. :D

Walked around 1 Utama and realised that Singapore also has most of the shops there...like Topshop, Forever 21, Esprit, blah blah blah. Bought something from Forever 21 before I bumped into my sister and we went to eat at this pancake house.

Damn.Fucking.Good.

Me posing with the corned beef crepe my sister ordered. So ugly can!

The seafood pancake. We managed to finish almost all of the ingredients but left most of the pancake there. Oops.

Since we ate so much, we didnt get to join the rest for dinner at the Peranakan restaurant where they had yusheng!!! :(

I dont believe this...I'm shorter than the words 'RUYI'.

CNY Eve and Day 1

CNY Eve
Unlike previous years where we used to drive to Malaysia for the new year, this year, because I had classes on the eve, we took a plane instead. Ate at this place called TSC in Terminal 2. Initially, I was wondering what did TSC stand for and I asked aloud.

Me: What is TSC ar?
Father: Erm, Takashimaya Shopping Centre?
Me: -_-

After taking a closer look at the wet towels given, I realised that TSC stands for 'Tong Shui Cafe'.

Food wasnt that great though. The porridge was too watery, har kow was too small and the cheese-baked rice wasnt cheesy enough.

Checked in early and while walking around in the departure hall, I spotted this woodblock print thingy and was so fascinated by it. Quickly picked up a piece of paper and started shading away. After I finished shading, I looked up and realised that all the people who were doing the same thing as me were...kids. Ages ranging from 5~8. -_-

The plane that we took was so fucking cramped and luckily I had the aisle seat or else I think I would've died if I had the window seat. Of all the planes that I've taken in my life, not many I must add, this was the first one that instead of a safety video, that had a LIVE safety demostration! Then again, because the plane was so cramped, only the people seated in the aisle seat could see the demostration. Anyway, we were served drinks and after they did so, I was happily waiting for the meal to be served...simply because Zuji stated that there will be meals on this flight. In the end, I realised that the 'meal' was that dumb drink that they served...and I asked for water somemore. Hello...although the flight duration's short so they cannot actually serve a whole meal, cant they at least give peanuts or something to justify their costly air tickets?! In short, the flight sucked pretty bad.

Reached Malaysia, got driven back to my uncle's house, ate reunion dinner, stayed up late to pray, received ang pows from my grandmother and yup, of to bed.

CNY Day 1
Woke up late and luckily there was still nian gao left for me. Helped out in the kitchen and I peeled and grated mangkwang(turnip) for the first time in my life. Okay, didnt do it totally by myself because I'm damn bad at using the knife and had help from my auntie. Lunch was freaking delicious because it was cooked by my grandmother and I think I almost finished the plate of mushrooms that was placed right in front of me. Lazed around the house after lunch and went out shopping after that with my auntie, her son, my father and of course my grandmother! Went to this shopping centre called Sunway Pyramid and was awed by the number of activities that you can do there. They have a cinema there, bowling alley, ice-skating ring, ARCHERY place and of course, shopping centres. However, since it was the first day of the new year, most of the shops were closed. Walked around aimlessly for like half-an-hour or so before I finally managed to bag my first purchase of the day :D

After shopping, we ate dinner there as well. Look at the amount of sushi there! Plus, the sushi there is so much cheaper than Singapore!

The sashimi!!!

Dont ask me why but I didnt buy the sushi at all. Bought Takoyaki instead and was so freaking disappointed with it. Instead of using boiled octopus, they used octopus that you normally see on the cold dish at wedding dinners. Somemore, they added a mountain of this thing(I think that it was diced onions) that I've never seen people add in before. I had to wait around 10mins for them to...HEAT up the balls. WTF. It was freaking oily too and when I tried to lift one of the balls to my mouth with the satay stick, before I could even lift it up from the box, it came apart. -_- The taste sucked too.

Shared some chicken and mushroom hot plate with my grandmother. I think I am really bad in choosing food because this dished sucked pretty bad too. First of all, their gravy is like free or something because they added so much gravy to the extent that you could call it soup. Secondly, there was no mushrooms inside and they had only 3 miserable pieces of chicken that were probably on diet when they were alive. Thirdly, they gave us lots of rice but...what's the use? In the end, we went back to fill our stomachs with bak gwa instead.
