25 random stuff

| | TrackBacks (0)
What I wrote for facebook. =D

Write 25 random things about yourself and tag 25 others to do the same thing...wtf.

1) The only person that I love more than myself is my grandmother who stays in Malaysia. =D I cry enough to fill the Pacific Ocean(obviously exaggerating) whenever I have to leave her. I swear that the Malaysia immigrations officer was trying to stifle his laughter when I walked passed him bawling in 2008.

2) I procrastinate alot and that's why I wrote point no. 1 at 3pm+ and point no. 2 at 5pm. Heh.

3) I've been to Japan 5 times in 3 years, Korea 3 times in 4 years, China 2 times in 3 years and I've been to Malaysia ALOT of times...and that's because my dad's family stays there. The country which I want to go again is Japan...wtf. My friend once commented that I disappear off to Japan every vacation. Not true okay, Fiona Eng! Haha.

4) Contrary to what people think, I am an introvert and I am really shy but I can be really fun and irritating when you get to know me. Kar Fai once said that he thought that I was quiet during the first 3 months of JC but I just couldnt shut up after the first 3 months...-___-.

5) I have ZERO general knowledge and my geography sucks. I used to think that Bintan was some island in Singapore and was seriously puzzled when my teacher cracked a joke about her friend not bringing a passport to visit Bintan. Then, I was like "Why do you need a passport? You're just moving around Singapore lo!". My sister never stops making fun of me because of this.

6) I am very gossipy and I love gossip ALOT, even if it doesnt concern me...wtf...I have no life. This is probably why Donna likes going out with me.

7) I hate public speaking to the core and I get jitters when I have to do presentations in class...even if there are only 3 people in my class and I know all of them well. I tend to speak fast when I'm nervous and this can be proved by the fact that I usually complete my presentations in less than 3 minutes. Oh, and by the way, the given time for the presentations is usually 10~20 minutes. Someone please teach me how to do public speaking!

8) My English pronunciation is really bad and my sister always laugh at me for it. I tried pronouncing the word "aphrodisiac" but ended up pronouncing it as "eh-fro-see-dee-act". Dont ask me why I was trying to pronounce this word.

9) I am the messiest girl you'll ever meet BUT I can be neat if I want to...just that I dont want to. I usually tidy up my room once in a blue moon but I never fail to mess it up again after one week. Clothes just manage to appear from nowhere.

10) Am really bad at writing stuff and I'm actually stuck already at point no. 10. My teacher once commented that I write like a elementary school kid when I was in high school. As much as I wanted to prove her wrong, I couldnt. =(

11) Dont laugh but I think that I'm damn nice. =D I can be nice to people that I dont like because I feel that there is no need to tell others that I dont like them. I am also nice to peope that I like. So in conclusion, I am nice to everybody! Whee~

12) I can be damn fake. See point no. 11, second sentence.

13) I am an internet addict and I can be stuck to my computer for the whole day...even if I have other pressing matters to attend to. This illustration also proves my point no. 2 of me being a procrastinator.

14) People think that I'm good at Japanese(yes, I know that this is damn 不要脸) but I seriously do not think so. I am actually pretty bad at Japanese, especially written Japanese. I write like a elementary school kid remember??

15) I hate making new friends because I hate the part where you have to part someday. This explains why I have so little friends in NUS, my university. The number is going to get smaller when Hao Yang and Fiona graduates this semester. Are you going to leave me behind too as well, Sharon Tan?

16) I am actually damn auntie. I love discounts, compare prices and I fight for seats on the trains in Singapore...Only in Singapore though...because people are kiasu enough to elbow others to make sure that they get a seat. 发挥auntie精神!!!

17) I have no idea what I want to do in the future. Part 1 of my "I want to marry a dying, rich old man so I can use his money after he dies" wish is just for laughs. Part 2 of my "I will then use his money to go to host clubs" wish is also just for laughs...I think.

18) I am not a paedophile, no matter what you think. I may like Japanese high-school boys but that's because I like their uniforms, not the boys...I think. And I dislike dating someone younger than me because they're probably immature and I might have to feed them in future. wtf.

19) I might say that I'm pretty, cute, (add nice words here) but deep down, I dont actually mean it. =D

20) I think that little girls are ugly but little boys are cute. Okay, not all but most. Once again, this doesnt mean that I'm a paedophile.

21) Unlike my friend who divides friends into 友達、友人、仲間 and 知り合い, I do not. I call everyone whom I know who is not family, a friend. I dont see the need to classify friends into different categories.

22) I can dislike people for no apparent reason and similarly, I can like people for no apparent reason as well. People used to ask me why I dislike (insert name here) but I seriously have no idea why. When I end up disliking someone I used to like, I find it difficult to re-like that person. However, it is easier for me to like someone that I disliked originally.

23) I am not afraid of dying but I'm afraid of losing my loved ones.

24) I know nuts about politics and although I feel that I should be learning more about what's happening in the political world, I'm just too lazy to do so. Please give me a crash course, Donna Tan...when you have the time that is.

25) My idea of what's pretty/cute/handsome/hot is different from many others. My friends usually dont trust my taste. -_-. People whom I think is cute, my friends think that they're fugly. People whom my friends think are hot, I think that they're so-so. All the better what!!! We wont fight~lalala.

I cant believe I spent almost one hour on this thing when I should really be doing my homework. (^_^)

Came back from Hyogo last Saturday. Seriously feeling withdrawal symptoms from being too long in Japan. Okay, 5 months is probably not a long period for most people but it's the longest time I've been away from home so yup, 5 months is a long period of time to me. I really miss everyone I've met in Hyogo and I really want to see everyone again before they return back to their respective countries. Someone please sponsor me to go see them? I dont know how many times I cried when I was about to leave and I even feel like tearing now while typing this...wtf. Why do I cry so much?!

Took Singapore Airlines back and the service totally sucked. Okay, not totally but pretty much sucked. The air stewardess was really rude and showed me this black face when she helped me place my luggage in the overhead compartment. Best thing was that she was the one who OFFERED to help me in the first place. She was really rough and I couldnt stand the way she pronounced "vegetables" as "ve-gee-tay-bers". Anyway, my check-in luggage weighed around 33kg and I'm happy that they didnt charge me for excess baggage.

I always thought that SIA flights from Japan land in Terminal 3 but we ended up in Terminal 2 so I had to call my father to tell him of the change. Initially I wasnt aware that I was in Terminal 2 and I was pretty pissed off when my father told me that he couldnt find my belt number. =D Oh and my mum got into a minor car accident and we had to take a taxi back that day.

Me trying to imitate Donald Duck. Why is Changi Airport filled with so many Disney characters?! I thought for a moment that I was in Disneyland lo!

My parents and me. Although they're smiling in this photo, my mum was actually in shock because of the accident and I think my father was slightly pissed because he has to fork out money to repair the car.

Back home in my room. I've managed yet again to mess up my room in less than a week...wtf. I seriously suspect that I'm a guy or something because I'm so effing messy. Everyone in Japan seriously got a shock when they saw the photo of my room in Japan. Will post it up here next time. Heh.

Pineapple tarts! Finished two cans of them le...shit. I seriously need to go lose weight.

Angpows that were waiting for me in my room. Okay, not all of them were mine. Half of these belongs to my sister. I was initially so excited to see so many angpows until my mum told me that I was supposed to share them with my sister.

School started 3 weeks ago but yup, I missed all 3 weeks so I have to try to catch up now. Pretty much sucks because of the workload but it was all worth it. I was able to spend more time with my friends in Japan and I'm happy I managed to do that. =D
Went out with Donna yesterday and I lost count of how much food we ate. Haha. Went to the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library for the first time in my life to print notes. My textbook costs a fucking 107dollars at Kino and so being cheapo, I decided to print the relevant chapters at the library so as to complete my homework. =D Have to buy the book anyway because it's an open-book test and we are not supposed to bring in materials that go against copyright laws...bah.

Me and Donna at Lot 1.

Singapore has changed pretty much in 5 months. First of all, there's Juicy Couture...wtf...and there's Majorlica something. Also, Clementi has this new building and much more. I was so amazed by the changes that happened in 5 months. Damn...I hate change...why cant everything stay the way it used to be?

Seriously, I hate NUS

| | Comments (2) | TrackBacks (0)
Remember that I said that NUS is slower than a tortoise? I hereby take back what I said and shall change it to "NUS is slower than a sloth". What is a sloth you might ask...A sloth is the world's slowest animal and if NUS is slower than it, it sure tells you ALOT about the efficiency of NUS. Wait...what efficiency?

Since I'm going to Japan for SEP this semester, I had to do modules mapping and modules mapping is not something that's very fun to do. In fact, it makes people want to pull their hair out, vomit blood, and strangle every single admin staff in NUS. So I wanted to try to map this Japanese module from the partner university to NUS's GEM module and I had to fill up a form that included the following questions:

1) Synopsis of module (Reasonable question)
2) Lecture breakdown/topics by week (Seriously, NUS doesnt even prepare this information before the term starts and you expect other universities to have this information?!)
3) Required reading list (WTF?!)
4) Contact hours per week.

Apparently, NUS gives 4 modular credits for 36 contact hours throughout 1 semester and hence, contact hours less than 36 means that you do not get the full 4 modular credits. Seriously...NUS should stop thinking so highly of themselves. They arrive at the calculation of 36 contact hours because they add in the tutorials as well but seriously, do you even learn anything in tutorials?! All the teaching's done in lectures and tutorials are just there to go through readings, which you've already learnt about in lectures...so in short, nothing new is being taught. Some universities in Japan do not have tutorials so to NUS, they're not teaching alot because they do not have 36 contact hours...wtf?! The content taught is the same for fuck's sakes...and isnt it superficial to calculate modular credits based on contact hours?! Seriously, not everyone attends the full 36 contact hours in NUS and does that mean that they shouldn't be awarded 4 modular credits? Oh wait...nobody cares if students do not attend lectures or not.

Anyway, I submitted my request form to the Registrar's Office on the 16th of August and waited for the results. It's stated on the website that they'll take 5~7 days to announce the results but being NUS(i.e. slow), they still didnt tell me the results after 2+ weeks. So on the 2nd of September, I had to email them for the results and they replied me saying that they did not approve of my request and I should email my request to the Dean's Office.......................................

WHAT THE FUCK LA!

If you state that you'll give the results in 5~7 days, then fucking abide to it. Somemore I dont think that they were planning to reply me at all lo! Note that they only replied me after I EMAILED THEM. Take the fucking initiative can or not. It's obvious that nobody's doing their job can! Return me my school fees! Why the fuck should I pay them fees when they cant even be bothered to reply students. And...if I need to email the Dean's Office for approval and you cant do anything about it....then fucking tell me earlier can!

It's because of people like that in NUS that makes me want to graduate earlier and not want to take honours. Can you imagine taking honours?! Taking honours=staying for 1 more year in NUS=having to deal with shitty people like this for another year=going crazy. TMD.

Okay, end of ranting. Off to bed.

Scholarship~

| | TrackBacks (0)
Whee~ I got the JASSO scholarship for a short-term study in Japan! I am so happy because that means I got more money to spend in Japan! Heh. No lah, it means that my parents don't have to pay so much money for my school fees there. See, I'm such a nice daughter...........Ok lah, and also because I can spend more in Japan. =D

So, I'm going for this student exchange programme thingy to Osaka this coming semester. A little scared about this whole study overseas thing, although it's for one semester only, because I've never done it before. One sucky thing about it is that there's lots of preparation work to be done and I don't feel like doing it. Can I hire someone to do it for me? I'll promise to pay the person a lump sum of $0.20. Yes, I am giam siap. So what?

Nothing much to write except for the above two things because my life's totally boring recently. The only interesting thing is that I'm going to remove my stitches tomorrow. Whee~ How fun. -_-

Results are out~

| | Comments (1) | TrackBacks (0)
And finally, after waiting for like 1 freaking month since the end of my exams, the results are out!!! One thing I'm unhappy about the release of results is...why do we(read: Arts students, my batch) always get our results last?! It has been like that for the past 2 years lo. Damn it, made me wait so long.

So anyway, quite satisfied with my results considering that I started out very hardworking this semester and ended up totally slacking for the rest of it. I think I didn't read like what, 75% of the readings assigned, or maybe even more. An improvement from last semester, the results I mean, not the studying. I realise that I get better results without studying for it...does this mean I should slack even more? Heh~

2nd paper et 2nd last paper

| | TrackBacks (0)
Totally screwed up my paper today but guess what, I don't really care. I just want to finish the exams soon...and that's tomorrow. Totally didn't know that there was 3 essays to write till like 15minutes before the exam. Yes, I am an extremely studious person as you can see. =D

My answer for the first question was "Obviously lar" but obviously I couldn't write that down. Didn't really know how to support my answer though. This is what happens when I try to study a semester's work in 3 hours. Whee~

Second question was bad. Let's just say that I'm totally not cut out for business.

Third question was the best, as in I knew how to answer, but there wasn't enough time. Spent too much on the first 2 irritating questions.

I know that I'll pass but let's just hope that I pass with a decent grade. Whee~

Got back project A and B and test C today. Project A sucked big time and I was wtf-ing when I read through the commentary given. Project B was so-so but I still wtf-ed at the commentary. Test C was ok. Yup, shall go eat my Oreo Mcflurry now. Bye~

Xiao Xiong Bing Gan~

I can't wait for the exams to be over...although they just started today. =D

JS3208 wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Phew~ It was kind of sucky to take an exam while you're coughing like mad. My throat doesn't feel like as it it was stabbed now. It just feels freaking ticklish...that kind that no matter how many times you cough, you still feel like coughing. Boo.

Anyway, hy bought this for me~!
chokobi.jpg

Does anyone find the above packaging familiar? If you do then you must be a fan of Crayon Shinchan as well! Whee~ I never knew that they actually sold this lor.

Like every kiddy food product, there was a free sticker that came with it. There's like 45 different patterns. OMG, how to collect all?! Will go broke before I manage to do that.

Apparently this biscuit is quite delicious(I wouldn't know because I'm not supposed to eat anything that will irritate my throat any further), so if you want to try them, go Daiso and buy them now! $2 only~!!! Cheap cheap!!! (Ok, I shall stop sounding like a Daiso fan from now on, although I am one.)

Two more papers to go before I set off for Korea. Quick end already, stupid exams.

Exams...arrgh!

| | Comments (2) | TrackBacks (0)
Exams start tomorrow. I'm like so effing dead because I've not studied for any paper yet. Can someone help me pretty please?

Then again, wtf am I doing here? I should really be studying right now although my eyelids are starting to droop down and my brain is not absorbing any information, unless they're non-examination stuff. Oh, and I think that I'm falling sick. Throat infection is back and my mum just had to entice me to eat the so-freaking-aromatic chicken pie that she bought. Of course, I succumbed to temptation and my throat feels like as if someone just stabbed me with a knife and tickled my wounds with a furry teddy bear. =(

Ouch.

Chou beri busy week

| | TrackBacks (0)
Have been chou beri fucking busy this week. This week was seriously hell for me, the 18th level somemore. Let's see how my week went.

Monday: Had to go for the korea trip briefing after class. I just realised that almost half of my tour group is made up of middle-aged people who are not very matured.

Tour guide
: (In Mandarin) I will now....(whatever, what he said wasnt important in this anecdote.)
Man: (In English) Sorry but I cant understand Mandarin.
Tour guide: (In English) Oh ok, that's fine. I will speak in English then....
Woman: (In Mandarin) I cant understand English.
Tour guide: Erm...
Man's wife: Why not you speak in both languages then?
Tour guide: Erm...that will take too long.
Man: (In English) Never mind, let's take a vote. Who can understand English here?
Woman: (In Mandarin) Eh! It's not fair lor.
Tour guide: Okay okay, I'll try to talk in both languages.

My god, what language is the tour guide going to speak in during the tour itself?! I sense that there will be some interesting drama on the tour though =D

There's like one bad thing that I cant stand this tour group. Many of them were LATE for the briefing. The briefing was supposed to start at 6.30pm but no one arrived on time. It's not a Chinese wedding dinner for goodness sake! I had to leave at 7pm because I had work to do and when I left the room, I complained out loudly to my mum, "Walau eh. Those people are irritatingly late lar! What's wrong with them seriously..." Then, after saying that, I realised that the couple who walked passed me, and obviously they heard my speech, was from my tour group. That means that they were like for a freaking...HALF-AN-HOUR. They better not be late during the tour or I'll give them hell.

Night was spent preparing the presentation slides for translation and linguistics. Slept at 3am.

Tuesday:  Had translation presentation and Korean class. Night was spent rushing out my linguistics paper and writing the draft for the JS2224 paper. Slept at 4am.

Wednesday: Linguistics presentation went well. Phew~ Watched Alvin and the Chipmunks(yes, I know that this show was out ages ago.) before continuing the JS2224 paper with hy. Had to study for my final French test too. Slept at 4am again.

Thursday: Woke up at 7.30am and my head felt like as if it were going to burst or something. Tried to do some last minute French mugging before I headed off to the classroom. I like it how teachers say that students must be on time and then they themselves show up late. Not blaming my teacher because she was only late this time round but just saying in general. The class seriously thought that she cancelled the test and was planning to celebrate when she walked in. Finished the paper in like 20mins partly because I didnt really know how to answer some questions. Took a short nap and after waking up, nobody else had finished lo!!! Anyway, handed in my paper and went for lunch.

Dont ask me why but hy started writing out Shuuchishin's lyrics on the whiteboard during lunch.

Koide Keisuke, again by hy.

French oral went surprisingly well though...erm...at least I thought so lar~Haha. Had Korean class after French and on my way to class, I got so attracted to this bag that I stopped over at that shop to look at it. Needless to say, I was late for class :D

Night was spent...writing JS2222 essay. So once again, slept late but this time round, 5am.

Friday: Woke up early to finish up the referencing part of the essay. I hate referencing :( Rushed to school to print it out and dumped it into the teacher's mailbox. Today was so freaking hot and I seriously thought that I was going to melt.

Wanted to eat the student's meal at Jack's place today but couldnt find the menu anywhere so my mum helped me ask the waiter about it.

Mum: Hi, do you have the student's meal menu?
Waiter: Mam, student's meal is for students.
Mum: -_____________- (Of course I know that student's meal if for students only lar! WTF.)

Okay, my mum didnt say WTF. I added it in. :D

My beef pasta was soaked in oil la! Damn disgusting. Every mouthful was like full of oil. Couldnt finish it because I really felt like puking 1/4 way through.

The dessert made up for it though. Mango and chocolate ice-cream. Super-duper yummy but I couldnt finish it though. The oil from the main course took up too much space in my stomach.

citygems.jpg
To reward myself for working so hard this week, I went SHOPPING~ Bought a new cardigan and some leggings~And this pair of earings from Citigems. Shopping with my mum rocks...because I dont have to pay a single cent. :D

Anyway...one more essay to go!!! My goodness~Shall start on it after I continue to reward myself by watching the Spring doramas. Jya!

Touring around NUS

| | Comments (4) | TrackBacks (0)
Toured around NUS for the first time and almost died walking. Well, you would too if you've been walking for like what...2~3 hours? The weather was freaking hot somemore but it was quite fun though, bringing 2 Japanese students around. The funniest part was when we were walking through Dr. Morita's office in the JS Department. Dr. Morita was having a consultation with Kyohei, one of my classmates from linguistics, and when we walked past, both of them actually stood up to exchange greetings with the Japanese students. So cute!!! Normally teachers will be damn pissed when you interrupt their consultation sessions but Dr. Morita was different :D

Fulin and I first brought them to tour around Arts and I'm proud to announce that I've discovered a few shortcuts in Arts that I've never known of. Whee~ Shorter walking distance to classes in the future! Next, we crashed a Sociology lecture and because Take wanted to sit in for a while, I brought Yayoi to the library for a short tour while Fulin accompanied Take. I originally wanted to write something about someone in the library but considering that she's my friend's mother, I shall refrain from doing so.

Next up was the Coop where they actually bought some NUS souvenirs back~ I never knew that NUS had such cute souvenirs...not going to buy them though. Hee. Went to the UCC(this abbreviation keeps reminding me of the coffee brand) next and there were like tons of cute little Malay kids there, preparing for some performance or something.

Yayoi left first because she had to do her homework. I seriously hope that she did not get lost on the way back.

Fulin, Yayoi

We later then went to the Raffles Biodiversity Museum. There were like lots of girl and boy scouts there who were doing museum tours or something...since when did we have this?! Then again, there were too many of them and it was quite irritating because they were blocking lots of exhibitions.

Wowie~ Elephant bone!!!

I do not believe it but we actually went to NUH next, along with Fulin's friend, Alvin(I think). NUH looks more like a shopping mall than a hospital. There was 7-11, Mr Bean and gift shops there. Walked around the gift shops for a while and I saw lots of cute stuffed toys there!!!

Qizai! Then again, this qizai looks fake to me because it's hair colour is too yellow. Still cute though. :D

Intellectual hippo.

Me, Fulin.

Me, Fulin, Take. After the NUH tour, I parted ways with them and met up with my mum and sister for a seafood dinner. Damn expensive I must say for 5 dishes only. Then again, it was quite delicious...but not delicious enough to justify the price though.

Bought this for dessert.

Yummy~ Gonna go eat this now...Ta-ta~
