Seriously, I hate NUS

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Remember that I said that NUS is slower than a tortoise? I hereby take back what I said and shall change it to "NUS is slower than a sloth". What is a sloth you might ask...A sloth is the world's slowest animal and if NUS is slower than it, it sure tells you ALOT about the efficiency of NUS. Wait...what efficiency?

Since I'm going to Japan for SEP this semester, I had to do modules mapping and modules mapping is not something that's very fun to do. In fact, it makes people want to pull their hair out, vomit blood, and strangle every single admin staff in NUS. So I wanted to try to map this Japanese module from the partner university to NUS's GEM module and I had to fill up a form that included the following questions:

1) Synopsis of module (Reasonable question)
2) Lecture breakdown/topics by week (Seriously, NUS doesnt even prepare this information before the term starts and you expect other universities to have this information?!)
3) Required reading list (WTF?!)
4) Contact hours per week.

Apparently, NUS gives 4 modular credits for 36 contact hours throughout 1 semester and hence, contact hours less than 36 means that you do not get the full 4 modular credits. Seriously...NUS should stop thinking so highly of themselves. They arrive at the calculation of 36 contact hours because they add in the tutorials as well but seriously, do you even learn anything in tutorials?! All the teaching's done in lectures and tutorials are just there to go through readings, which you've already learnt about in lectures...so in short, nothing new is being taught. Some universities in Japan do not have tutorials so to NUS, they're not teaching alot because they do not have 36 contact hours...wtf?! The content taught is the same for fuck's sakes...and isnt it superficial to calculate modular credits based on contact hours?! Seriously, not everyone attends the full 36 contact hours in NUS and does that mean that they shouldn't be awarded 4 modular credits? Oh wait...nobody cares if students do not attend lectures or not.

Anyway, I submitted my request form to the Registrar's Office on the 16th of August and waited for the results. It's stated on the website that they'll take 5~7 days to announce the results but being NUS(i.e. slow), they still didnt tell me the results after 2+ weeks. So on the 2nd of September, I had to email them for the results and they replied me saying that they did not approve of my request and I should email my request to the Dean's Office.......................................

WHAT THE FUCK LA!

If you state that you'll give the results in 5~7 days, then fucking abide to it. Somemore I dont think that they were planning to reply me at all lo! Note that they only replied me after I EMAILED THEM. Take the fucking initiative can or not. It's obvious that nobody's doing their job can! Return me my school fees! Why the fuck should I pay them fees when they cant even be bothered to reply students. And...if I need to email the Dean's Office for approval and you cant do anything about it....then fucking tell me earlier can!

It's because of people like that in NUS that makes me want to graduate earlier and not want to take honours. Can you imagine taking honours?! Taking honours=staying for 1 more year in NUS=having to deal with shitty people like this for another year=going crazy. TMD.

Okay, end of ranting. Off to bed.

Malaysia - Day 1 and Day 2

So, I'm finally going to be blogging about my Malaysia trip with my sister, that took place in May. Not very long ago right? Only about two months. =D

It was the first time that I took Grassland bus to Malaysia. The bus was pretty comfortable and there was lots of leg room. In fact, there was so much leg room that I couldn't even touch the back of the seat in front of me!!! Oh wait, was it because there was too much leg room or was it because I have really short legs? Anyway, being a suaku that I am, I was gushing about the free bread, free water(I know it's included in the bus fare but hey, let me be happy that it's "free" can?!) and in-bus entertainment. People were probably thinking stuff like "Where the hell did this country bumpkin come from?!" One complaint I had about Grassland was that they didnt provide us with earphones although there was in-bus entertainment. Hello, how to sleep in peace when I can hear Fann Wong's voice coming from the screens in front/behind/beside me?!

Arrived at the bus station in Malaysia at around 5am and while getting off the bus, I was shocked at the sight of tons of taxi drivers calling out to passengers "Ah mui ar! Need taxi?". In fact, they kept asking non-stop even though I was ignoring them as all I was interested in was to get my luggage off the bus. Took a taxi to Brisdale Hotel for RM15. Damn expensive la! My first impression of the hotel was "Eh, so lao kok one ar?" and there were quite a few houseflies flying in the lobby. Washed up before asking the receptionist if she could help us call for a taxi. To our dismay, there were no taxis available and so she asked us to hail one by ourselves outside the hotel. There was a wet market directly outside the hotel and we had to walk ever so carefully or else we'll get chicken blood splattered on us or probably step into a pool of bloodied water or something. After waiting for a long long la la time, we finally got a taxi. The interesting bit about the taxi was that the taxi driver's wife was still in it when we hopped onto the taxi. First time that I shared a taxi with people I didn't know.

Ate at Hotel Nikko and shopped at KLCC before returning to the hotel. There was this sign outside KLCC that read "Say NO to taxi touts. Get a metered taxi at the taxi stand" but guess what, all the taxis at the taxi stand REFUSED to go by the meter. We must have had rejected like more than 10 taxis before giving in to the "standard" charge of RM15 for a what, 5minutes taxi ride? Irritating shit. If dont want to go by meter, then install meter for what?! For show ar?! Assholes. Cheat tourists money only.

Reached the hotel, checked in, waited for at least 10minutes for the SLOW lift to come down, and finally reached our room. Upon entering the room, we realised that they gave us a queen-sized bed instead of two twin beds. Called the front desk to inform them of their mistake and got a change of rooms to the 9th floor, room 24 or something. My sister went to take a shower in the freaking dirty bathroom while I started to unpack my luggage. The doorbell rang and the guy told me that we had to change our room to 920 instead. Already freaking tired, I questioned him for the reason but he wasn't sure of it so I called the front desk.

Me: Hi, may I know why do I have to change rooms again?
Front Desk: Oh, it's because the guest who is staying in 924 hasn't checked out yet.
Me: What?! You gave me a room in which someone's still staying in?! (This explains why the room wasn't made up yet. Unflushed toilets, zero toiletries etc)
Front Desk: Erm, yes, so we're changing you to 920 instead.
Me: How could you let us into someone else's room? How can I trust your hotel to be safe if like that?!
Front Desk: ...
Me: I want to speak to your manager.
Front Desk: Okay. I'll put you through him.

Phone music plays for like at least 10 minutes so I got irritated, put down the phone, and re-dialled for the front desk.

Me: Hello, can I speak to your manager please?
Front Desk: Ok, I'll put you through him. Please hold on for ---
Me: No, dont put me on hold for like what, another 10minutes. I want to speak to him right now.
Front Desk: Oh, but he's out right now.
What?! Then tell me in the first place lar! Made me wait 10minutes over the phone somemore!
Me: When will he be back?
Front Desk: Around ten minutes.

So, I went downstairs to wait for him. When I saw him, I told him straight away that I dont want to stay in his hotel because it's not safe and wanted a refund. He offered to upgrade my room but I didnt want it because...WHAT IF THEY CHANGE MY ROOM TO SOMEBODY ELSE'S ROOM AGAIN?! He then refused to give me a refund because "Oh, I tried to give you a better room but you didnt want it what". WTF?! I started screaming at him and everyone inside the hotel turned and looked at us.

Me: Do you get it?! I DO NOT want to stay a minute longer in your lousy hotel! I want a refund!
Manager: No, I tried to give you a better --
Me: NO! Looking at how you gave me a room that someone hasnt checked out of, how do you expect me to continue staying here?! It's totally unsafe!
Manager: How did you know that the customer hasnt checked out?
Me: Well, your front desk lady told me.
Manager: It's not my fault that they didnt check properly. Also, that customer is a regular customer, so sometimes he wants to extend his stay with us.
Me: What does this have to do with me?! (If your regular customer wants to extend his stay, then in the first place, check properly and dont give me his room! Damn it!)
Manager: That's why I want to change the room for you.
Me: No, what if you let OTHER people into my room the next time? I dont feel safe here. Also, the toilet was dirty. Nobody cleans the room one ar?!
Manager: That's not my fault. It's the cleaner's.
Me: Stop shifting responsibilities. You are the manager so you basically are responsible for everything in the hotel!
Manager: It's not my fault.

The conversation went on for quite a while with the irritating manager trying to shirk responsibility for everything and he refused to give me a refund. Stormed up back to my room, called my mom to see if she was able to cancel the payment transaction but she wasn't helpful at all. Feeling seriously angry, I...cried. Yar, I cry when I'm extremely angry too. Somemore it was my birthday that day. Anyway, somehow, some lady called my sister to say that they'll allow a refund and change hotels for us.

The little introduction of the THREE-STAR Brisdale Hotel on google.
"Strategic location in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, top-quality Accommodations, warm (Yea, it was so warm, in fact it was so hot that I almost burst a blood vessel) and personal service, efficiently designed conference and meeting facilities and a pool with a view - all these are here for your unforgettable stay."(Definitely UNFORGETTABLE...although I only stayed there for less than half-an-hour.)

Aren't these doors supposed to be closed? Also, the bed in Room 924 was dented ok! DENTED?! wtf.

Stayed in Hotel Concorde instead. Although the hotel wasn't that clean either, considering we saw cockroaches for 3 consecutive days, it was so much better than Brisdale Hotel. Took a quick shower before going to Pavilion where we had foot massage and did the fish spa at Kenko. The fish spa was my first time and it felt ticklish at first but I slowly got used to it. Oh, and apparently, I have a lot of dead skin on my legs. All the fish swam towards me when I put my legs into the water and the guy next to me was certainly displeased about it. Sorry la, I didnt mean to "steal" all your fish lo. Also, everyone who walked passed me kept pointing out loud at the numerous fish at my legs. -____- Eh, I can hear you lo! Want to laugh also go further away ma! Anyway, feet felt damn smooth after the spa.

After a little shopping where I bought my Paris Hilton wallet(stop laughing!) and pre-dinner at Carls Jr., we went over to KL Plaza for dinner. KL Plaza seriously reminded me of Lucky Plaza in Singapore. Scary. Anyway, we ate at Moussandra. The food was pretty good but it was a pity that we couldnt eat more. Shouldn't had eaten pre-dinner. Damnit.

Baked mussels with almond & Parmesan cheese.

Grilled marinated prawns with asparagus & olives served with garlic mayonaise

Mushrooms with cheese topping. Damn delicious.

Grilled beef sausage with mustard sauce...I think.

Beef bacon, mixed mushroom & fresh basil pizza...I think.

Yup, end of Day 1 and 2 in Malaysia. More pictures at http://mizu-kioku.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=172.

Went to the hospital today to change the waterproof sticker for my wound. Change one sticker also must fork out $75...why didnt I study medicine?! Anyway, removing the stitches on Friday...finally~ but still no strenuous activities for at least a few weeks. Starting to feel damn fat. Boo.

While at the hospital, Standard Chartered Bank(SCB) called my mum and asked for my number to check if we've won anything. The lady then told us that she'll give us a call back in 15minutes but seeing that she's from SCB, of course she didnt call back la. WTF. So, I rang SCB and talked to this guy who hung the phone up on me. FUCKER. STANDARD CHARTERED BANK TRULY SUCKS. By the way, UOB sucks pretty much too but let's wait for the manager to call me tomorrow before I say anything more about UOB.

Ate at MOF(Bugis) for lunch and ordered an iced matcha latte that tasted like as if I was drinking powder and milk. Totally no matcha taste and the powder made my throat uncomfortable. Complained to the waiter and he told me that that's they way they make the matcha latte. What?! Full of powder?! That just means that they never mix properly lar! Then again, the waiter was nice enough to waive the matcha latte for me and he was freaking polite throughout the whole conversation I had with him. Service=Wonderful. Food=Not too bad. Price=A little pricey. Matcha Latte=Just don't order it.

Just watched Cruel Intentions. Yes, i know it's a 1999 film but so what, I've never watched it before. Quite interesting and how come no one ever told me that Ryan Phillippe's so HOT?! I seriously cried when he died in the show lo. Speaking of hot guys, went to watch this dance musical called Spin Odyssey a couple of weeks ago with Li Ming. It's put up by this Korean b-boy group called Last For One. OMG, the dance was freaking good, storyline interesting and funny, and the guys were omfg cute/hot. Damn unfair lar! How come Singapore have no guys who look like them?!

Here's a video of them anyway. See how cool they are for yourselves~ It's the making video for Spin Odyssey.

Trailer for Spin Odyssey.

Wanted to take photos with the guys after the show but was too shy at first and by the time we mustered up some courage to do so, most of the guys went backstage to rest le. DAMN. Haha.

I fucking hate Standard Chartered Bank, or SCB for short. Let me recount to you why I feel this way.

9th June 2008

There's this GSS thing by SCB where cardmembers who spend $3,000 and above are entitled to win a Sony Bravia LCD TV or ipod Nano. The former is available to the first 50 cardmembers who sms SCB during the redemption period and the latter's available to the next 200 cardmembers. Since I've(or rather my mum) spent more than $3,000 within the time frame stipulated, I decided to participate. Anyway, it's there for us to participate what.

SMSed during the redemption period at 9am sharp and just to be on the safe side, I smsed at least four more times after 9am. Okay, I know that I'm kiasu but hey, my 9am might not be their 9am right! Play safe only. After sms-ing, I was waiting for their confirmation sms but none came in so I called SCB up to enquire. The woman who picked up my call said that I will NOT receive any confirmation but will only know if I've won anything by sms on 18th June. Repeated what she said to confirm and thanked her for her help.

18th June 2008

No sms was received. Decided to wait a little longer because they probably have lots of people to sms. They even have to sms people who are unsuccessful lo. (Click to enlarge picture and read point no. 11)

19th June 2008

Rang up SCB and spoke to this guy called Asaph. Was horrified to learn that I WAS SUPPOSED to receive a confirmation sms on the day I smsed SCB. WTF was wrong with that call centre woman?! He also told me that they did not receive my sms. Feeling pretty pissed off, I told him that I wanted an investigation to be done. Firstly, I wanted to know who that lady was and secondly, check why my sms wasn't received. Asaph then promised to give me a call back on Friday, which was June 20th.

20th June 2008

No call received.

22th June 2008

Called SCB and demanded to speak to Asaph but guess what, so coincidental ar, he left the office le! So, I demanded once again to speak to someone of higher rank than Asaph to firstly, check on my case and secondly, complain Asaph. Spoke to Mr Yap whom listened to me recount the whole incident dating all the way back from 9th June. Told me that probably there were too many calls on the 9th of June, accounting for the mistake that the woman made...............................................................................

...................................That's the fucking worse excuse I've ever heard!

So if SCB is too busy, they are ENTITLED to give us the wrong information?! Hello, SCB is a bank for goodness sake! How can like that?! Can you imagine if you are so suay to deposit $20,000 into your bank account and they only put in $20 for you because they were too busy on that day?! WTF.

Then I asked about why they never receive my SMS and even if they did, no confirmation sms sent to me and no notification that I was unsuccessful (refer to point 11 of the rules and regulations). Oh, guess what he said? He said that they wont sms me if I'm unsuccessful...................I then told him to open his eyes(okay, I didn't say this line) and look at point 11 of their rules and regulations. WTF is wrong with these people? They dont bother to know more about their company's services and keep giving wrong information to customers. Also, I sent in a short written complaint by email by nobody bothered to reply me. GREAT service there huh, dont you agree?

So to cut a long story short(I was on the phone with Mr Yap for around 35 minutes), he promised to check my case, check whether they received my sms on 23rd June(today's another redemption day), and call me back at 9.15am.

23rd June 2008

Anyone wants to guess if I received a call from Mr Yap at 9.15am? Of course not! I waited till 9.25am and called SCB back.

Oh, Mr Yap is working the evening shift today. He'll only come in at 4pm.

What the fuck is wrong with these people seriously?! They promise customers stuff but they dont do it. How do they expect me to trust their bank anymore?! Told the lady who picked up the phone that I wanted to talk to someone higher rank than Mr Yap to firstly, check up on my case and secondly, complain Mr Yap.

Lady: Can I have your name and IC?
Me: No, you wont give it to the next person anyway, like what that guy did yesterday when I called. (I got asked 3 times for my name yesterday. Two times by the guy who picked up the call and once by Mr Yap)
Lady: Hold on please.

Stupid call-waiting music.

Lady: Can I know what are you enquiring about?
Me: Can you just put me through someone of higher authority?!
Lady: Hold on please.

Stupid call-waiting music.

Lady: Hi, my manager is checking your case right now.
Me: How do you even know who I am if I didnt give you my name?
Lady: Erm....we checked the email from Mr Yap.
Me: Can you just put me through someone of higher authority, like right now?!
Lady: Hold on please.

Stupid call-waiting music.

And so finally, she put me through Mac/Max, however his name's spelt. Funny how that guy yesterday put me through to Mr Yap once I asked for it but this woman had to make me wait so long. So Mac/Max's the same rank as Mr Yap and compared to Mr Yap, he's totally unhelpful, lazy and can't be bothered about me. Let me explain why.
Firstly, unhelpful. He said that someone of higher authority will call me back at 10.30am regarding my case but I demanded an earlier call because I've been waiting from 9.15am. He then told me that they are different departments and all that shit but seriously as a customer...I DONT GIVE A FUCKING CARE. I just want what they promised me, which they obviously didnt do. I though he'll go "I'll call them to hurry up" but guess what, he just remained silent until I spoke up. I fucking hate it when people over the phone give me silence because they cant find anything to day. Hello, your job is to talk to people and you cant find anything to say?!
Secondly, lazy. I asked him why I didnt get a call at 9.15am if Mr Yap sent an email out to inform them about my case(I presume, considering they received an email from him). He said that they come in at work at 9am and only checked their email WHEN I CALLED THEM. WTF?! 25minutes to check email?! And, if I didnt call them, I'll probably still be waiting right now. Lazy or not?!
Thirdly, can't be bothered about me. I told him to hurry the people up and give me a reply and said that I do not mind holding the line while he does that. In a very whatever-I-dont-care tone, he said, "Okay, you hold" and took his time to hurry the people, without even playing the stupid call-waiting music...so it was basically dead air for 10+ minutes. Customer service=zero points.

So, Mac/Max finally got back to me and said that someone will be giving me a call at....5PM?! WTF is wrong with this people?! I fucking hate Standard Chartered Bank and I'm going to ask my mother to stop being a cardmember with them. Anyway, they dont care, fucking unhelpful, take their own sweet time, break promises and lastly, dont respect customers.

During the 34minutes call I had with SCB today, I received a SMS notification for the smses I sent in today. Yesterday, Mr Yap told me that the notifications would normally reach me at 12noon but eh, I received it at 9.51am today. WTF?! They obviously do not communicate among departments and have no clue as to what their services are about.

FUCK.

Chou beri busy week

| | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0)
Have been chou beri fucking busy this week. This week was seriously hell for me, the 18th level somemore. Let's see how my week went.

Monday: Had to go for the korea trip briefing after class. I just realised that almost half of my tour group is made up of middle-aged people who are not very matured.

Tour guide
: (In Mandarin) I will now....(whatever, what he said wasnt important in this anecdote.)
Man: (In English) Sorry but I cant understand Mandarin.
Tour guide: (In English) Oh ok, that's fine. I will speak in English then....
Woman: (In Mandarin) I cant understand English.
Tour guide: Erm...
Man's wife: Why not you speak in both languages then?
Tour guide: Erm...that will take too long.
Man: (In English) Never mind, let's take a vote. Who can understand English here?
Woman: (In Mandarin) Eh! It's not fair lor.
Tour guide: Okay okay, I'll try to talk in both languages.

My god, what language is the tour guide going to speak in during the tour itself?! I sense that there will be some interesting drama on the tour though =D

There's like one bad thing that I cant stand this tour group. Many of them were LATE for the briefing. The briefing was supposed to start at 6.30pm but no one arrived on time. It's not a Chinese wedding dinner for goodness sake! I had to leave at 7pm because I had work to do and when I left the room, I complained out loudly to my mum, "Walau eh. Those people are irritatingly late lar! What's wrong with them seriously..." Then, after saying that, I realised that the couple who walked passed me, and obviously they heard my speech, was from my tour group. That means that they were like for a freaking...HALF-AN-HOUR. They better not be late during the tour or I'll give them hell.

Night was spent preparing the presentation slides for translation and linguistics. Slept at 3am.

Tuesday:  Had translation presentation and Korean class. Night was spent rushing out my linguistics paper and writing the draft for the JS2224 paper. Slept at 4am.

Wednesday: Linguistics presentation went well. Phew~ Watched Alvin and the Chipmunks(yes, I know that this show was out ages ago.) before continuing the JS2224 paper with hy. Had to study for my final French test too. Slept at 4am again.

Thursday: Woke up at 7.30am and my head felt like as if it were going to burst or something. Tried to do some last minute French mugging before I headed off to the classroom. I like it how teachers say that students must be on time and then they themselves show up late. Not blaming my teacher because she was only late this time round but just saying in general. The class seriously thought that she cancelled the test and was planning to celebrate when she walked in. Finished the paper in like 20mins partly because I didnt really know how to answer some questions. Took a short nap and after waking up, nobody else had finished lo!!! Anyway, handed in my paper and went for lunch.

Dont ask me why but hy started writing out Shuuchishin's lyrics on the whiteboard during lunch.

Koide Keisuke, again by hy.

French oral went surprisingly well though...erm...at least I thought so lar~Haha. Had Korean class after French and on my way to class, I got so attracted to this bag that I stopped over at that shop to look at it. Needless to say, I was late for class :D

Night was spent...writing JS2222 essay. So once again, slept late but this time round, 5am.

Friday: Woke up early to finish up the referencing part of the essay. I hate referencing :( Rushed to school to print it out and dumped it into the teacher's mailbox. Today was so freaking hot and I seriously thought that I was going to melt.

Wanted to eat the student's meal at Jack's place today but couldnt find the menu anywhere so my mum helped me ask the waiter about it.

Mum: Hi, do you have the student's meal menu?
Waiter: Mam, student's meal is for students.
Mum: -_____________- (Of course I know that student's meal if for students only lar! WTF.)

Okay, my mum didnt say WTF. I added it in. :D

My beef pasta was soaked in oil la! Damn disgusting. Every mouthful was like full of oil. Couldnt finish it because I really felt like puking 1/4 way through.

The dessert made up for it though. Mango and chocolate ice-cream. Super-duper yummy but I couldnt finish it though. The oil from the main course took up too much space in my stomach.

citygems.jpg
To reward myself for working so hard this week, I went SHOPPING~ Bought a new cardigan and some leggings~And this pair of earings from Citigems. Shopping with my mum rocks...because I dont have to pay a single cent. :D

Anyway...one more essay to go!!! My goodness~Shall start on it after I continue to reward myself by watching the Spring doramas. Jya!

Dont ask me why but I've been watching Malaysian Dreamgirl recently. The sound quality is really bad because even when I turn my speakers up to the full volume, I still cant hear clearly what the people are talking about in the video. Wait a minute, it's probably not the fault of the video, it's probably due to the fact that I've not digged the 'gold' out of my ears for a million years. Yes, that must be the explanation!

Video editing is kind of bad too because some episodes start and end abruptly. For instance, in episode 6, it started off suddenly with the contestants giving their comments on the elimination...when...the elimination took place in episode 5. Couldn't they just try to squeeze that part into episode 5? They could've done so if they had cut away some really boring and why-the-fuck-is-this-here footage. Also, episode 6 was awfully short and it seems to me that they forgot to edit the video so they just anyhow cut-and-pasted a few scenes together and ta-da~episode 6. Furthermore, episode 6 part 3 was uploaded on a different day from the first two parts. Do I sense some serious slacking on the part of the producers?

In addition to episode 6, what was the significance of the flying fox part? And where are the photos from that photoshoot? If it wasnt a photoshoot then seriously, what a waste of time(viewer's) and effort (the photographer's). If it was a photoshoot...then upload those pictures already damn it!

Episode 7 was a refreshing change from episode 6 because it was filled with bitching and more bitching. I hate to admit this but I just loved episode 7 because of all the bitching, although I didnt understand Hanis at all. Not her fault though, it was my fault because I cant understand Malay at all. The producers should've had inserted all these serious bitching from day one to spice up the show. I'm sure that the girls didnt just start to bitch only now. They must have had bitched more during Ringo's return. Bitching and back-stabbing are the elements that make an online reality tv show, or any tv show actually, interesting to watch. I mean, why would anyone want to sit through a show that features only goody two shoes? How boring!

After watching the latest episode and then comparing it with the first few, it made me wonder...whether those girls who were squealing irritatingly like 2-year-old kids whenever they get freebies...are the same girls who were doing some serious bitching in the latest episode. If they're the same, then I must really say that these girls are.................really women! Come on, women bitch all day long. Like it or not, we're made this way. :D

Onto the contestants, I cant decide whether I like Adeline or not. During the audition, I felt bad for her when the judges were making fun of her pronunciation of 'sushi', which she pronounced it as 'susi'. Like wtf, you dont go around making fun of people's pronunciation and somemore, this is a reality tv show that searches for models(obviously not dreamgirls now) and not anchorwomen ok! Models need to look pretty and since when was language ability an important factor in modelling?

Cindy was really pretty...until her locks got chopped off. If cutting your long tresses=making a big sacrifice, like what Ringo said in her profile video, I think that you all should vote for Cindy too~ Oh wait, but she's like really fake, speaks bad Mandarin and calls people names like 'yin du po' and 'ma lai po' when she obviously knows their names. Oh, but I really like the way she complains over the phone. Really bitchy and she sounded as if she really wanted to dig her claws into the other contestants but couldnt do so because...well, the cameras are there you know.

Eyna. I dont know. She is like expressionless for like 100% of the time.

Fiqa. One of the few whom I thought was cute initially when I saw the profiles videos. I like it how she says that she doesnt want to nag about Cindy but still goes on to divulge more juicy stuff about Cindy. Still like her though.

Hanis. She can look sweet at times and not very pleasant-looking at times. Cant talk much about her because 99% of the time, I dont understand what she's talking about.

Jay. Looks really model-ish and her English is arguably the best among all the contestants now.

Nadia. Scares me alot, especially her eyes and when she doesnt smile.

Ringo. Was the only familiar face when I first started watching because I've been reading her blog for quite some time. When I heard her voice for the first time on the profile video, I was like 'Fake-accent alert" and I really didnt like the way she spoke. From other episodes, forgot which one, she spoke kind of differently from the profile video and it sounded so much nicer without the fake accent. Her blog is starting to irritate me because every single post now is about how we should all vote for 'cheesie-sama', why she's awesome and all those shit. Seriously, damn hard-sell and gets revolting after some time. Oh, and I shivered when I read what Mr.bbq had to say in the post 'Thank you everyone'. I quote him directly here: I positively teared okay. WTF?! That's disgusting can! So yup, everyone please vote for Ringo to let her win so as to stop all the hard-sell posts and let the entries there return to normal, when it was actually good to read. She's going to win anyway right? I mean, if the producers dont keep her on the show long enough, they will lose all the money they'll get from her big bunch of loyal blog readers' votes.

Yup, I just wasted part of my life blogging about this.

Sucky Day

It's only about 2pm but I already had an extremely sucky day today. No thanks to those people whom I met today.

Since I had to wait an hour before my first class started, I decided to make a trip to the library to photostat my JS2224 readings. The librarians were having some meeting or something and they were all talking loudly in the library. -_- Arent librarians supposed to shush people and not talk loudly among themselves? Anyway, whatever. That was not one of the reasons for my very sucky day. The sucky part began when I inserted my cashcard into the printer's card reader. Normally, the card slides in smoothy when you push it in but today, it wasn't smooth at all and in fact, my card got stuck. Damn. Went to the counter for help and this nice lady came over to help me. She tried to switch off and on the power switch, pressed the eject button and even tried to use a tweezer to take my card out but to no avail. Time was ticking and I had lesser and lesser time to photostat the vast amount of readings. She told me that the printer is usable, just that the cashcard's stuck and told me to go ahead with the printing. I placed my handphone and cashcard pouch on the printer tray which I wont be using at all. Halfway through printing, another lady, whom I assume to be either the printer expert or that nice lady's boss, came to me saying (shouting), 'GOT DEDUCT MONEY OR NOT?!'Apparently to her, if the cashcard's stuck, money might not get deducted from it and that means that I'm printing for free. Of course, they cant give me paper and ink for free (although it's their fucking printer's fault). In her hurry to try eject my cashcard, she went to LIFT THE TRAY WHICH MY HANDPHONE WAS ON...so as to allow her to reach for the power switch. My phone almost fell to the ground because of her. Fuck. She didnt even say sorry. So anyway, she managed to eject my cashcard and re-inserted it in for me. Continued printing...realised that after a certain amount of pages that I printed, the cashcard stopped deducting money...which meant that...my cashcard's stuck AGAIN. Being a nice person, I continued and finished printing my stuff before telling the nice lady that my cashcard's stuck again. :D In fact, I think it's still stuck now. Wonder when will they call me to pick up my cashcard.

With a little time left after printing, I went to the JS Office to pick up the application forms for SEP. Why cant that school put the application forms online?! Apparently, that school still hasnt sent the forms to NUS yet...-_- NUS' deadline for handing in the forms is like approaching soon lo! :(

After school, walked in the freaking hot sun to Citibank to open a savings account with my mother. Few days back, my mum called this Citibank guy to ask him for application forms so that we can fill them up. I seriously dont get the point of printing out application forms yourself, then bringing those forms to the bank to open an account. I mean, since you have to go to the bank anyway, waste their papers la! Why waste your own? One thing I cant stand is the online application thing. What's the fucking use of online application when you need to print them out so that you can sign on them? Defeats the purpose of the word ONLINE. So anyway, the Citibank guy told my mum that it's ok for me to open an account that requires clients to be at least 21 years of age although I'm not 21 yet. Reason was because I'll turn 21 soon anyway. Went down to the bank in the sweltering weather, got told that I cant open the account, felt extremely pissed. All because of their ignorant Joseph Lee guy, I made a fruitless trip. Asshole.

All because of that stupid Citibank employee, I went to POSB to open an account instead. The lady tried to convince us to sign up for this minimum ten years account. There are risks with this account because it's like an investment account. Not sure what the account is about anyway. The lady explained like never explain like that...and her tone was seriously damn haolian. When my mum asked her how the bank will use the funds to invest, she replied, 'Invest lar! Different kinds.' Thanks alot bitch. Next my mum asked how risky it was because there's something called high-risk and low-risk. She replied, 'Every investment also got risks.' Thanks, not helping at all. Decided to sign up for 2 accounts. One was the one that she was trying to promote and another one was the MySavings account. Asked her several times if I need to fill up the MySavings account but she ignored me because she was trying to print out the other account's application form. She didnt even offer me a pen to fill up the form. So ya, she printed out the application and started to explain to us the details. Fuck you. Only when we say that we want to sign up then she made an effort to explain. Anyway, the terms didnt sound that attractive so we decline signing up. It's our choice whether we want to sign up or not but she went 'I know you dont want to sign up because of the application costs (or some other costs, cant remember exactly) right!' WTF. Hated her fucking arrogant tone and her I-will-serve-you-only-if-you-will-sign-up-for-an-account attitude. I think they get commisson for that account because she looked pissed when we told her that we will just sign up for the MySavings account. On a form that she asked us to sign, she did not offer us a pen. Isnt it common sense to offer your customers a pen when you request their signatures?! Anyway, wanted to give her a 'Need Improvement' rating but my mother told me not to do so because she didnt want to get her into trouble. -_- WTF?! Hopes she get fired soon anyway.

So yup, sucky day. Hope that the later half of the day will be better.

Broadway Beng

Went to watch Broadway Beng Returns yesterday. From the title of the play, you know it's about an ah beng doing broadway shows and hence, obviously there would be lots of Hokkien used in the play. Initially I was kind of worried about the use of Hokkien in the play because I cannot understand Hokkien. However, surprisingly, I could understand most of the Hokkien used yesterday. Erm, probably it's because the Hokkien used was more of vulgarities and hence, I understood. Haha, I can understand vulgarities of a particular language without knowing how to speak it. Hee~

The play was seriously worth the money. It was so freaking funny and I totally loved ah beng's portrayal of Phantom of the Opera. Phantom of the Opera a.k.a ah beng version was so cute and I was quite amazed by the foreigner woman's voice. Damn high can~! Oh ya, and the woman who played Christine had such a sweet voice. I want also~! While watching the play, I thought that the ah beng was damn familiar but I did not know who was Sebastian Tan. So when I went home and google-d his name, I finally realised why. He's the guy who used to sing the Price of Peace theme song and I think he acted in quite a few Mediacorp(or TCS, since it was quite long ago) dramas. Ok, he has quite a good voice. :D

I was so into old songs when I heard the Price of Peace theme song that I went to download more old TCS drama songs. Ok, I know I am damn lame and have nothing better else to do, but whatever la...I'm sick and cant do much anyway. I wanted to download Chew Chor Meng's Immortal Love theme song but cant find it anywhere...can anyone send me if they have it? Hehe. Oh ya, I realised they named Immortal Love as My Date With a Vampire 4. WTF?! MDWAV is a Hongkong drama for goodness sake! In addition, MDWAV started in 1998 and Immortal Love started in 1997 so it doesnt make any cow sense to put Immortal Love as part 4 lo...

I am obviously sick considering that I'm actually doing stuff like this...

1 down, 3 to go

Exams started today for me. JS2226 was seriously a killer. Didnt really know how to go about attempting the essay question. To make things worse, it was a compulsory question. No 'choose 1 out of 2'. I think teachers really dont like me. They always set compulsory questions for me. People who took past year JS2226 had a choice of essay questions. The same went for JS2228 when I took it last semester. One good thing however, is that, I am a great crapper, as certified by my JC teacher. Haha.

One lesson learnt from studying for the JS2226 paper. Never watch Miss Singapore Universe while doing so. I so regreted watching Miss Singapore Universe yesterday. First of all, the results were so predictable and secondly, I didnt manage to do lots of studying. And I do mean studying and not revision. As I have this bad habit of sleeping for this particular module, lots of information were new to me when I tried to study for the paper. (ToT) Felt so cheated when I was watching MSU. As MSU is more of a guy show, the host promised some sugar for the ladies too. In the end, that sugar was Jonathan Leong, or whatever his name is. He isnt exactly sugary loh...

Anyway, did a damn paiseh thing. Karen wrote Fiona the wrong MSN address and I ended up emailing and talking to the wrong person on MSN. OMG, so paiseh can! Somemore I emailed her links to photos...The MSN conversation was even worse. I talked to her for like 5 min before realising she's not the Karen I know. Somemore her display picture was obviously someone I didnt know...Arrgh, feel like slapping myself. -_-

Did this myheritage.com thingy.

Fucking Shit

WTF. I am seriously pissed.

Last Thursday supposed to have TS meeting but no one showed up. Waited in vain with Fiona for 1 hr before realising that it was cancelled but we were not informed.

Tonight 10pm supposed to have MSN TS meeting. One guy showed up but left at 10:12. WTF...might as well dont come right! Fuck. Fiona and Larissa came. Waited for one hour and no one else came. WTF. Is pang-sehing that fun?! If not planning to appear, then dont say want to do meeting! I specially went back to school today to do some reading for today's meeting somemore. Today's Sunday for goodness sake! Went back to school only to be pang-sehed. WTH.

See why I fucking hate school?

P.S: If this is an April's Fool joke, I'm so not impressed.
