It was the first time that I took Grassland bus to Malaysia. The bus was pretty comfortable and there was lots of leg room. In fact, there was so much leg room that I couldn't even touch the back of the seat in front of me!!! Oh wait, was it because there was too much leg room or was it because I have really short legs? Anyway, being a suaku that I am, I was gushing about the free bread, free water(I know it's included in the bus fare but hey, let me be happy that it's "free" can?!) and in-bus entertainment. People were probably thinking stuff like "Where the hell did this country bumpkin come from?!" One complaint I had about Grassland was that they didnt provide us with earphones although there was in-bus entertainment. Hello, how to sleep in peace when I can hear Fann Wong's voice coming from the screens in front/behind/beside me?!

Arrived at the bus station in Malaysia at around 5am and while getting off the bus, I was shocked at the sight of tons of taxi drivers calling out to passengers "Ah mui ar! Need taxi?". In fact, they kept asking non-stop even though I was ignoring them as all I was interested in was to get my luggage off the bus. Took a taxi to Brisdale Hotel for RM15. Damn expensive la! My first impression of the hotel was "Eh, so lao kok one ar?" and there were quite a few houseflies flying in the lobby. Washed up before asking the receptionist if she could help us call for a taxi. To our dismay, there were no taxis available and so she asked us to hail one by ourselves outside the hotel. There was a wet market directly outside the hotel and we had to walk ever so carefully or else we'll get chicken blood splattered on us or probably step into a pool of bloodied water or something. After waiting for a long long la la time, we finally got a taxi. The interesting bit about the taxi was that the taxi driver's wife was still in it when we hopped onto the taxi. First time that I shared a taxi with people I didn't know.

Ate at Hotel Nikko and shopped at KLCC before returning to the hotel. There was this sign outside KLCC that read "Say NO to taxi touts. Get a metered taxi at the taxi stand" but guess what, all the taxis at the taxi stand REFUSED to go by the meter. We must have had rejected like more than 10 taxis before giving in to the "standard" charge of RM15 for a what, 5minutes taxi ride? Irritating shit. If dont want to go by meter, then install meter for what?! For show ar?! Assholes. Cheat tourists money only.

Reached the hotel, checked in, waited for at least 10minutes for the SLOW lift to come down, and finally reached our room. Upon entering the room, we realised that they gave us a queen-sized bed instead of two twin beds. Called the front desk to inform them of their mistake and got a change of rooms to the 9th floor, room 24 or something. My sister went to take a shower in the freaking dirty bathroom while I started to unpack my luggage. The doorbell rang and the guy told me that we had to change our room to 920 instead. Already freaking tired, I questioned him for the reason but he wasn't sure of it so I called the front desk.
Me: Hi, may I know why do I have to change rooms again?
Front Desk: Oh, it's because the guest who is staying in 924 hasn't checked out yet.
Me: What?! You gave me a room in which someone's still staying in?! (This explains why the room wasn't made up yet. Unflushed toilets, zero toiletries etc)
Front Desk: Erm, yes, so we're changing you to 920 instead.
Me: How could you let us into someone else's room? How can I trust your hotel to be safe if like that?!
Front Desk: ...
Me: I want to speak to your manager.
Front Desk: Okay. I'll put you through him.
Phone music plays for like at least 10 minutes so I got irritated, put down the phone, and re-dialled for the front desk.
Me: Hello, can I speak to your manager please?
Front Desk: Ok, I'll put you through him. Please hold on for ---
Me: No, dont put me on hold for like what, another 10minutes. I want to speak to him right now.
Front Desk: Oh, but he's out right now.
What?! Then tell me in the first place lar! Made me wait 10minutes over the phone somemore!
Me: When will he be back?
Front Desk: Around ten minutes.
So, I went downstairs to wait for him. When I saw him, I told him straight away that I dont want to stay in his hotel because it's not safe and wanted a refund. He offered to upgrade my room but I didnt want it because...WHAT IF THEY CHANGE MY ROOM TO SOMEBODY ELSE'S ROOM AGAIN?! He then refused to give me a refund because "Oh, I tried to give you a better room but you didnt want it what". WTF?! I started screaming at him and everyone inside the hotel turned and looked at us.
Me: Do you get it?! I DO NOT want to stay a minute longer in your lousy hotel! I want a refund!
Manager: No, I tried to give you a better --
Me: NO! Looking at how you gave me a room that someone hasnt checked out of, how do you expect me to continue staying here?! It's totally unsafe!
Manager: How did you know that the customer hasnt checked out?
Me: Well, your front desk lady told me.
Manager: It's not my fault that they didnt check properly. Also, that customer is a regular customer, so sometimes he wants to extend his stay with us.
Me: What does this have to do with me?! (If your regular customer wants to extend his stay, then in the first place, check properly and dont give me his room! Damn it!)
Manager: That's why I want to change the room for you.
Me: No, what if you let OTHER people into my room the next time? I dont feel safe here. Also, the toilet was dirty. Nobody cleans the room one ar?!
Manager: That's not my fault. It's the cleaner's.
Me: Stop shifting responsibilities. You are the manager so you basically are responsible for everything in the hotel!
Manager: It's not my fault.
The conversation went on for quite a while with the irritating manager trying to shirk responsibility for everything and he refused to give me a refund. Stormed up back to my room, called my mom to see if she was able to cancel the payment transaction but she wasn't helpful at all. Feeling seriously angry, I...cried. Yar, I cry when I'm extremely angry too. Somemore it was my birthday that day. Anyway, somehow, some lady called my sister to say that they'll allow a refund and change hotels for us.
The little introduction of the THREE-STAR Brisdale Hotel on google.
"Strategic location in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, top-quality Accommodations, warm (Yea, it was so warm, in fact it was so hot that I almost burst a blood vessel) and personal service, efficiently designed conference and meeting facilities and a pool with a view - all these are here for your unforgettable stay."(Definitely UNFORGETTABLE...although I only stayed there for less than half-an-hour.)
Aren't these doors supposed to be closed? Also, the bed in Room 924 was dented ok! DENTED?! wtf.

Stayed in Hotel Concorde instead. Although the hotel wasn't that clean either, considering we saw cockroaches for 3 consecutive days, it was so much better than Brisdale Hotel. Took a quick shower before going to Pavilion where we had foot massage and did the fish spa at Kenko. The fish spa was my first time and it felt ticklish at first but I slowly got used to it. Oh, and apparently, I have a lot of dead skin on my legs. All the fish swam towards me when I put my legs into the water and the guy next to me was certainly displeased about it. Sorry la, I didnt mean to "steal" all your fish lo. Also, everyone who walked passed me kept pointing out loud at the numerous fish at my legs. -____- Eh, I can hear you lo! Want to laugh also go further away ma! Anyway, feet felt damn smooth after the spa.

After a little shopping where I bought my Paris Hilton wallet(stop laughing!) and pre-dinner at Carls Jr., we went over to KL Plaza for dinner. KL Plaza seriously reminded me of Lucky Plaza in Singapore. Scary. Anyway, we ate at Moussandra. The food was pretty good but it was a pity that we couldnt eat more. Shouldn't had eaten pre-dinner. Damnit.

Baked mussels with almond & Parmesan cheese.

Grilled marinated prawns with asparagus & olives served with garlic mayonaise

Mushrooms with cheese topping. Damn delicious.

Grilled beef sausage with mustard sauce...I think.

Beef bacon, mixed mushroom & fresh basil pizza...I think.

Yup, end of Day 1 and 2 in Malaysia. More pictures at http://mizu-kioku.net/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=172.
