Neoprint machines in Singapore kinda rocks~

| | TrackBacks (0)
I did this part-time job of bringing Japanese students around 2 weeks back. All I had to do was to bring students to places hat they wanted to go to in Singapore and then bring them back safely to the allocated meeting place. It's basically the same thing I did back in 2007. My first group was 5 boys from Tokyo Gakkan High School and of all places to go, they wanted to visit the Bird Park!!! Havent been to the Bird Park since I was like what, in primary school? It was pretty fun to go to the Bird Park after so many years but one thing that sucked was the fucking hot weather. Almost died under the merciless hot sun -___-. We only managed to go to one place of attraction because it takes at least one hour to travel there from Orchard and another hour was wasted on the way back. =(

The second group was 6 girls from Takasaki High School and the only place that they wanted to see was Bugis Street because according to their guidebook...Bugis Street is the Harajuku of Singapore. -________- wtf?! That's like such an insult to Harajuku for goodness sake. Anyway, brought them to see the Sri Mariman Temple first because their teacher wanted the student tour guides to do so. Was supposed to bring them to some other temples as well but seriously, nobody was interested in seeing temples. Walked around Chinatown and I'm so proud of myself for not getting lost! Okay, that's maybe because Qianli came over to help me so I didnt get lost. wtf. Meeting place was at Raffles Landing Site and up till then, I never knew that we had two Raffles statues in Singapore and neither did I know that the new Asian Civilisations Museum is near Raffles Landing Site. No matter what you are thinking now...I am 100% Singaporean okay! Just that I dont know much about Singapore...I should be so ashamed of myself. :(

On the 13th, we had this SB3-reunion-cum-farewell-to-Tommie thing at Lisa's house. Havent been to Lisa's house in ages and it was nice to meet up with my high school classmates after such a long time. Ate, talked and played Taboo. Taboo is like such a fun game and everyone really enjoyed it =D As it was the eve of Valentine's Day, Ray gave every girl there a stalk of rose. We were like "Thank you Ray" before he blurted out that those roses were leftovers from the roses sale at his school. wtf...but he paid for it anyway so, thank you! =D

On Valentine's Day, we had a Korean class gathering at Eileen's house. Last Valentine's, I spent it with my Korean class as well...wtf. We can seriously go cry or something...haha. Ate nasi lemak cooked by Eileen's maid and it was so freaking delicious =D After eating, we went for karaoke and it was so fucking expensive because it was a Saturday night. Bah...but it was fun anyway. =D

Today, I met up with Li Ming and Kymberlyn and I realised that this is actually the first time that we've gone out together as a trio. We also went to take neoprints, a first time for the three of us. :D So we went to this neoprint shop located in Cineleisure and we had to pay in JAPANESE YEN for the machine that we chose...wtf?! It was really tiring taking the neoprints because we had to take photos till the time ran out and we took 16 shots in the end. Cool thing about this machine is that you can send the photos to your cellphone via infrared now! When I was in Japan, I loved their neoprint machines because besides costing half the price of what it costs in Singapore, you can receive the neoprints in .jpg format via email or infrared. I was complaining to my Japanese friend that Singapore's not so high-tech yet and when I come back...VIOLA~ you can now send neoprints to your cellphone! Best thing is you can send ALL the photos that you decorated to your cell~ Whee~

Mid-term break's ending soon and my teacher just told us that we have a new assignment due on Monday...damn! Gotta unpack my boxes and luggages from Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan or else my mum will never stop nagging...damn! Going to take a rest now~ Tata~

I'm back from Taipei and Hong Kong~~

| | TrackBacks (0)
Ohisashiburi~ I just came back from a holiday in Taipei and Hong Kong! Was expecting Taipei to be hot and Hong Kong a little cooler from the weather forecast before I went but it was the opposite. Taipei was pretty chilly and Hong Kong was effing hot...wtf. Did lots of shopping in Taipei but not much in Hong Kong because firstly I dont really like the stuff in Hong Kong, secondly, the salespeople were either rude or didnt bother to talk to me and thirdly, stuff in Hong Kong was so fucking expensive...as compared to Taipei that is. I bought a few tops in Taipei for like 100yuan, which is like 5 freaking Singapore dollars!!! Whee~ So anyway, I havent resized most of my photos(and my photos from Japan too! Ah!) so I'll just do a what-I-ate-in-Taipei-and-Hong-Kong food post for now. Enjoy~ Didnt eat that much though :D

First up, the food I ate on the planes. Went for a short trip of 5 days and in these 5 days, I had 4 plane rides. Singapore to Hong Kong, Hong Kong to Taiwan, Taiwan to Hong Kong and lastly Hong Kong to Singapore. This increases my planes count for this year to 5. =D
(TL) Sausage, omelette and hashbrown. Not that delicious but passable.
(TR) Fish covered in a mild spicy sauce which was freaking good. I practically gobbled down the fish when it was served to me and I wasnt even that hungry. =D
(BL) Some chicken fried noodles. Presentation-wise...FAIL. Taste-wise...So-so.
(BR) Fish and potatoes. I must say that the fish that Cathay Pacific uses is damn palatable.

(TL) Oyster Mee Sua. Didnt really like it but it was pretty cheap. Around 1 Singapore dollar.
(TR) Curry chicken balls from this stall called Ding Gua Gua that my sister recommended. I liked that the balls werent too oily but I couldnt taste any curry at all. Haha.
(BL) Xue Hua Bing...which is basically shaved ice. Topped it with green tea and red beans for one and mango for the other. I think that they sell this in Lot 1 too but not that many flavours there. The portion was quite huge and I think that it's perfectly okay for 3 people to share 1 actually.
(BR) Steamed buns with dim sum underneath and nobody else noticed the dim sum because no one bothered to lift the steamer up.

(TL) Pumpkin and vegetables that I didnt eat because it was too much for breakfast.
(TR) Scrambled eggs, sausages and ham.
(BL) Fish and some chicken-thingy.
(BR) Salted eggs! Havent eaten them in ages and I really love eating them with porridge~

(TL) Fruits and bread that I didnt touch because I was too full from eating the salted eggs with porridge :P.
(TR) Duck with glass noodles. The lady who sold this FRIED the glass noodles before adding soup so the soup was freaking oily...and kinda disgusting. While she was frying the noodles, oil spurted out and hit us. Fucking hot and painful but she didnt even apologise but just said "Oh, splashed onto you huh?"...WTF?!
(BL) Orh Jian. This orh jian beats all orh jian that I've eaten before because there were sooo many oysters in it. Best thing? The oysters were fresh and juicy. :D
(BR) Prawns and ham fried rice. Not too oily and delicious.

(TL) Fishball or meatball soup. Bit hard for fishballs but yet too soft to be meatballs. Probably a mixture? Not sure but anyway, the soup was a wee bit oily for my liking.
(TR) Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang...which is basically sausage wrapped in glutinous rice which was shaped like a sausage..wtf.
(BL) Peanut butter ice-cream from Cold Stone. Didnt get to eat Cold Stone in Japan because of the long queues everytime I went there but for the outlet I went in Taiwan, I only had to queue like for 5 minutes. :D I have no idea why the queues in Japan are so long...it's seriously just ice-cream for goodness sake.
(BR) Croissant with slices of beef from Starbucks.

(TL) Prawns and scallops fried in XO sauce with broccoli.
(TR) Some vegetables that we ordered because we didnt know that the prawn dish came with vegetables too. The stupid waitress didnt even bother telling us and even recommended that we order broccoli...wtf.
(BL) Bread with duck and foie gras. Damn.fucking.good.
(BR) Hashima/Xue Ge/Snow Jelly, whatever you want to call it.

(TL) Tangyuan.
(TR) Mango dessert from Xu Liu Shan. Wasnt too sweet and in fact, it was a little sour. Pretty good because it was so mango-ey~
(BL) Bird's nest that we were supposed to add into the Hashima but we didnt know that it was supposed to be eaten that way so we ended up adding it to the mango dessert instead. :P
(BR) Vegetable porridge.

(TL) Carrot cake. When I cut them up, they fell apart in strips and I found that interesting because the ones in Singapore just fall into lumps when you cut them apart. Okay, lousy description, I know.
(TR) Char Siew Cheong Fun.
(BL) Char Siew Bao.
(BR) Jiu Cai Jiao with nuts added into it. There was supposed to be Har Kow as well but I mistook this picture for Har Kow while resizing the photos so yar, didnt add the Har Kow picture here. wtf.

(TL) Siew Mai.
(TR) Some yam ball.
(BL) Roasted goose. Tasted like duck to me. I seriously cannot be a food connoisseur.
(BR) Prawns that were fucking small.

(TL) Broccoli fried with squid. Loved the squid but my breath smelt damn fishy after eating it.
(TR) Breakfast at a Char Can Teng. On the left was macaroni topped with sliced ham and abalone. My mum thought that the abalone strips were chicken -___ -...Now I know why I am so bad at food tasting. On the right was bread with lots of butter and fried eggs.
(BL) Macdonald's~!! Choice of burger was this Mala Chicken which was supposed to be spicy but I didnt find it spicy at all....Okay, I did actually but that was when I was about to finish it before I realised that it was kinda spicy. Hehe.

So yup, this ends my Taipei and Hong Kong food post. Will try to blog about my trip and Japan when I have the time. Cheers~

25 random stuff

| | TrackBacks (0)
What I wrote for facebook. =D

Write 25 random things about yourself and tag 25 others to do the same thing...wtf.

1) The only person that I love more than myself is my grandmother who stays in Malaysia. =D I cry enough to fill the Pacific Ocean(obviously exaggerating) whenever I have to leave her. I swear that the Malaysia immigrations officer was trying to stifle his laughter when I walked passed him bawling in 2008.

2) I procrastinate alot and that's why I wrote point no. 1 at 3pm+ and point no. 2 at 5pm. Heh.

3) I've been to Japan 5 times in 3 years, Korea 3 times in 4 years, China 2 times in 3 years and I've been to Malaysia ALOT of times...and that's because my dad's family stays there. The country which I want to go again is Japan...wtf. My friend once commented that I disappear off to Japan every vacation. Not true okay, Fiona Eng! Haha.

4) Contrary to what people think, I am an introvert and I am really shy but I can be really fun and irritating when you get to know me. Kar Fai once said that he thought that I was quiet during the first 3 months of JC but I just couldnt shut up after the first 3 months...-___-.

5) I have ZERO general knowledge and my geography sucks. I used to think that Bintan was some island in Singapore and was seriously puzzled when my teacher cracked a joke about her friend not bringing a passport to visit Bintan. Then, I was like "Why do you need a passport? You're just moving around Singapore lo!". My sister never stops making fun of me because of this.

6) I am very gossipy and I love gossip ALOT, even if it doesnt concern me...wtf...I have no life. This is probably why Donna likes going out with me.

7) I hate public speaking to the core and I get jitters when I have to do presentations in class...even if there are only 3 people in my class and I know all of them well. I tend to speak fast when I'm nervous and this can be proved by the fact that I usually complete my presentations in less than 3 minutes. Oh, and by the way, the given time for the presentations is usually 10~20 minutes. Someone please teach me how to do public speaking!

8) My English pronunciation is really bad and my sister always laugh at me for it. I tried pronouncing the word "aphrodisiac" but ended up pronouncing it as "eh-fro-see-dee-act". Dont ask me why I was trying to pronounce this word.

9) I am the messiest girl you'll ever meet BUT I can be neat if I want to...just that I dont want to. I usually tidy up my room once in a blue moon but I never fail to mess it up again after one week. Clothes just manage to appear from nowhere.

10) Am really bad at writing stuff and I'm actually stuck already at point no. 10. My teacher once commented that I write like a elementary school kid when I was in high school. As much as I wanted to prove her wrong, I couldnt. =(

11) Dont laugh but I think that I'm damn nice. =D I can be nice to people that I dont like because I feel that there is no need to tell others that I dont like them. I am also nice to peope that I like. So in conclusion, I am nice to everybody! Whee~

12) I can be damn fake. See point no. 11, second sentence.

13) I am an internet addict and I can be stuck to my computer for the whole day...even if I have other pressing matters to attend to. This illustration also proves my point no. 2 of me being a procrastinator.

14) People think that I'm good at Japanese(yes, I know that this is damn 不要脸) but I seriously do not think so. I am actually pretty bad at Japanese, especially written Japanese. I write like a elementary school kid remember??

15) I hate making new friends because I hate the part where you have to part someday. This explains why I have so little friends in NUS, my university. The number is going to get smaller when Hao Yang and Fiona graduates this semester. Are you going to leave me behind too as well, Sharon Tan?

16) I am actually damn auntie. I love discounts, compare prices and I fight for seats on the trains in Singapore...Only in Singapore though...because people are kiasu enough to elbow others to make sure that they get a seat. 发挥auntie精神!!!

17) I have no idea what I want to do in the future. Part 1 of my "I want to marry a dying, rich old man so I can use his money after he dies" wish is just for laughs. Part 2 of my "I will then use his money to go to host clubs" wish is also just for laughs...I think.

18) I am not a paedophile, no matter what you think. I may like Japanese high-school boys but that's because I like their uniforms, not the boys...I think. And I dislike dating someone younger than me because they're probably immature and I might have to feed them in future. wtf.

19) I might say that I'm pretty, cute, (add nice words here) but deep down, I dont actually mean it. =D

20) I think that little girls are ugly but little boys are cute. Okay, not all but most. Once again, this doesnt mean that I'm a paedophile.

21) Unlike my friend who divides friends into 友達、友人、仲間 and 知り合い, I do not. I call everyone whom I know who is not family, a friend. I dont see the need to classify friends into different categories.

22) I can dislike people for no apparent reason and similarly, I can like people for no apparent reason as well. People used to ask me why I dislike (insert name here) but I seriously have no idea why. When I end up disliking someone I used to like, I find it difficult to re-like that person. However, it is easier for me to like someone that I disliked originally.

23) I am not afraid of dying but I'm afraid of losing my loved ones.

24) I know nuts about politics and although I feel that I should be learning more about what's happening in the political world, I'm just too lazy to do so. Please give me a crash course, Donna Tan...when you have the time that is.

25) My idea of what's pretty/cute/handsome/hot is different from many others. My friends usually dont trust my taste. -_-. People whom I think is cute, my friends think that they're fugly. People whom my friends think are hot, I think that they're so-so. All the better what!!! We wont fight~lalala.

I cant believe I spent almost one hour on this thing when I should really be doing my homework. (^_^)

Came back from Hyogo last Saturday. Seriously feeling withdrawal symptoms from being too long in Japan. Okay, 5 months is probably not a long period for most people but it's the longest time I've been away from home so yup, 5 months is a long period of time to me. I really miss everyone I've met in Hyogo and I really want to see everyone again before they return back to their respective countries. Someone please sponsor me to go see them? I dont know how many times I cried when I was about to leave and I even feel like tearing now while typing this...wtf. Why do I cry so much?!

Took Singapore Airlines back and the service totally sucked. Okay, not totally but pretty much sucked. The air stewardess was really rude and showed me this black face when she helped me place my luggage in the overhead compartment. Best thing was that she was the one who OFFERED to help me in the first place. She was really rough and I couldnt stand the way she pronounced "vegetables" as "ve-gee-tay-bers". Anyway, my check-in luggage weighed around 33kg and I'm happy that they didnt charge me for excess baggage.

I always thought that SIA flights from Japan land in Terminal 3 but we ended up in Terminal 2 so I had to call my father to tell him of the change. Initially I wasnt aware that I was in Terminal 2 and I was pretty pissed off when my father told me that he couldnt find my belt number. =D Oh and my mum got into a minor car accident and we had to take a taxi back that day.

Me trying to imitate Donald Duck. Why is Changi Airport filled with so many Disney characters?! I thought for a moment that I was in Disneyland lo!

My parents and me. Although they're smiling in this photo, my mum was actually in shock because of the accident and I think my father was slightly pissed because he has to fork out money to repair the car.

Back home in my room. I've managed yet again to mess up my room in less than a week...wtf. I seriously suspect that I'm a guy or something because I'm so effing messy. Everyone in Japan seriously got a shock when they saw the photo of my room in Japan. Will post it up here next time. Heh.

Pineapple tarts! Finished two cans of them le...shit. I seriously need to go lose weight.

Angpows that were waiting for me in my room. Okay, not all of them were mine. Half of these belongs to my sister. I was initially so excited to see so many angpows until my mum told me that I was supposed to share them with my sister.

School started 3 weeks ago but yup, I missed all 3 weeks so I have to try to catch up now. Pretty much sucks because of the workload but it was all worth it. I was able to spend more time with my friends in Japan and I'm happy I managed to do that. =D
Went out with Donna yesterday and I lost count of how much food we ate. Haha. Went to the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library for the first time in my life to print notes. My textbook costs a fucking 107dollars at Kino and so being cheapo, I decided to print the relevant chapters at the library so as to complete my homework. =D Have to buy the book anyway because it's an open-book test and we are not supposed to bring in materials that go against copyright laws...bah.

Me and Donna at Lot 1.

Singapore has changed pretty much in 5 months. First of all, there's Juicy Couture...wtf...and there's Majorlica something. Also, Clementi has this new building and much more. I was so amazed by the changes that happened in 5 months. Damn...I hate change...why cant everything stay the way it used to be?
