8 more days before I say goodbye to freedom. Ok la, it's not so bad to start work considering that all I've done since the end of 'A' Levels is either going out to shop or staying at home to watch TV/DVD/VCD/tapes. Other than that, I've been arranging and rearranging all the new stuff I've bought. Actually I should start packing all my JC stuff into boxes so that my room and the living room look a bit less cluttered but...I have no boxes to pack them into.(Nope, this is not an excuse.)
Talking about shopping, I've finally got down to buying my prom dress and shoes. I tried on this Indian-style dress which actually looks quite nice on me, in the sense that I can actually hold the dress up...if you know what I mean :D I remember the time when we wore the choir costume in secondary school, my bra kept slipping down so yup, it was a constant battle of trying to pull it up while making sure that no one notices.
Anyway, I bought this Daniel Yam dress in the end...then I realised it looks a bit skimpy and it doesnt fit in with the theme...but heck la, I dont really care. At least I can re-wear this dress for my JCS graduation ceremony. I cant imagine wearing a Victorian-era-inspired dress to my graduation ceremony. I'll look freaky. So at the Daniel Yam store, the saleslady kept letting me try on translucent shawls so I asked her if there were any opaque shawls. Then she gave me this blank stare and asked me, 'What is opaque?' I seriously wanted to laugh but considering she was so nice, I didnt.
I got this pair of really nice heels but I'm scared that I might fall and sprain my ankle because well, I'm still not used to wearing heels after months of wearing slippers to the library to study. In fact, I cant even walk with heels for more than 3 hours the first time I wore it after the 'A's but I'm improving now. I wore heels for 9 hours straight on Monday...but my feet hurt like mad when I reached home. Then again, I better get use to wearing heels soon considering that heels are part of my dress code for work.
Seriously, I actually cant wait to start work because...where there are people, there's bound to be gossip. Ok, kidding...then again, maybe not :P Hmmn, I better go and sleep now since I'm going over to my cousin's house tomorrow to borrow accessories for prom. Night!
Fuck HDB upgrading. Not that I dont like the idea of upgrading(Why would I? Next time can sell the flat for more money.), it's just that the contractors are so freaking inefficient!!!
Upgrading for my block was supposed to be finished by October 2003, which was around the time I took my 'O' Levels. However, by the time I finished my JC 1 Promos, the workers were still in the process of upgrading my block. Fuck. So damn slow, not to mention the irritating noises they contribute everytime they start work. Oh, and the disgusting dust which caused my skin condition to deteriolate so much.
When they finally finished upgrading, or so I thought, then came the renovation of ground floor ceilings and re-wiring or cables this year. WTF? I thought all these were supposed to be done during upgrading? Plus, the work is so fucking shoddy. A few months after they changed the ceiling boards, some of them are already starting to fall out. Great! And not to mention what they did to the floor...it used to be fairly clean and now there are ugly black patches on them.
Then, there's always some reason for lift upgrading. WTF?! The lifts were like just installed one year ago...is there a need to upgrade it every now and then when they feel like it? And the noise is just killing me. Even though I've tuned my iPod up to its maximum volume and coupled it with my horrible singing, I still can hear the drilling noises. Fuck.
So when the noises finally stopped, hurray, I went out of my room and started watching The Simple Life 3 for the second time. Everytime Paris Hilton starts talking, the drilling noises start. When I paused the show to get a drink, the noises ceased. Then, when I hit the play button, ta-da, drilling noises once again. FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. Fucking irritating. Plus, it's not a very pleasant sight to see foreign workers walking in and out of your block. Everytime they do upgrading or maintanence, the cleanliness of the block worsens...clean up your fucking mess contracters!
Anyway, there's a funeral going on downstairs and I wonder how that family feels because I dont think anyone's going to be able to hear the monks chant their scriptures.
Went to watch A Christmas Carol yesterday. I've never seen a single ACSian theatre production out of my 2 years in ACJC and it's only after I've graduated that I went to see one. Haha, weird.
Many people went, even Sandra Gwee. Or is it Valerie Wilson. I always mix-up the 2 vice-principals. So yup, the play started off with a dance. The dance was horribly messy but cant blame them because well, they're not professionals and the ticket cost only $20 per person. After the dance was the entry of the people working for Mr Scrooge. They started this weird chant which I heard as 'Screw screw screw' and I was thinking why the hell were they saying such things during a play. Straight after Mr Scrooge entered...so I guess they were saying 'Scrooge scrooge scrooge' or something else.
During the scene where Mr Scrooge was talking to his workers, there were these 3 distracting figures on stage too where they kept swaying their bodies. Quite irritating because 1, they're not pretty and 2, what the fuck?! Turned out that they were the clock-cum-3ghosts.
The guy acting as Scrooge was quite nice-looking on stage but damn short. The girl acting as the Ghost of Christmas Past has a nice voice. The guy acting as Ghost of Christmas Future is that TC guy that hy doesnt like. The guy who held the telescope somewhere in the play had lots of exaggerated expressions, quite funny actually.
After the play, my sister told me that the Ghost of Christmas Past was actually Nat Bala. Then suddenly I realised why the guy seated next to me was complaining so much about the publicity given to the 'Angel'(he was refering to the Ghost of Christmas Past). It's like hellooo, if you had someone famous acting in your play, of course you'll pay her more attention right? Isn't it always like that. Like in out graduation video from BP, we had Shaun-whatever-his-surname-is, the guy in I Not Stupid, in our video although he was like Sec 1 when we graduated.
So yup, my fucking site is still experiencing downtime. FUCK FUCK FUCK. Fuck 1uhost.com. What the shit? I paid for their damn hosting services...only to get this kind of treatment. And this is not the first time. Fuck.
Anyway, the past week exams were a total shit. Especially Physics Paper 3. Confirm fail. Chemistry Paper 2 on the other hand was not too bad. The paper was damn short. Only 5 questions. :D
So Japanese compo exam took place last week too. Freaking difficult. Descibe a touching even in not more than 800 words. Where got enough to describe everything?!
Yesterday was Japanese grammar exam. Before the paper started, the invigilator looked at the paper and kept telling us that the paper was damn easy. So when the paper started...damn easy my foot lar. Seriously, it was rather difficult and I didnt know the meanings of wakuwaku and gorogoro. Actually that was the only part I didnt know for the first page of the paper. Then came the second page...breezed through it. Then...the third page, comprehension. Freak, they were talking about toilets. They were discussing countries that required you to pay for using their toilets and those that did not require so. Then came this circle and cross section where you tell them which countries require so...fuck la...The passage was like so damn difficult. Even the word fishing came out. Fishing in the toilet?!
The 'circle the number that tells you best about the summary of the passage' thing was sucky too. All answers were damn close. If you heng and get it correct, 4 points. If you suay, 0 points. I chose the toilet paper answer.
Moving onto the fourth page, kanji test. Seriously...it was freaking easy. :D Can get full marks.
On the way home after the exam, my sister and I saw this teenage(?) guy riding a bicycle meant for primary school kids. It was quite a sight actually.
Sis: Oversized guy riding an undersized bicycle, it's just like seeing big guys with small girlfriends or the other way round.
Me: Well, at least they're not riding on them. :D
-Silence-
Sis: You're sick!
So anyway, by the time we reached home by car, the guy on the bicycle reached there too. Wow, fast rider...
Start of Japanese examinations today. First paper - Oral. I think I've been freaking lucky for these past two years. Last year I got Nango sensei and this year I got Furumi sensei. The two teachers who are the most lenient in allocating marks. Time slated to start the paper was 11.40am but they started at 11.20am, so even before 11.40am came, I was already in Kinokuniya shopping.
As I walked into the room, Furumi sensei smiled at me and told the teacher next to her that I was from her class. So, anyway, the teacher who tested me was the other teacher. She asked me for my name so I told her and wanted to add 'Douzo yoroshiku onegaiitashimasu' before she started asking questions but I was scared that I might just accidentally knock my head on the table so I scrapped that. She asked me a total of 4 questions. 2 of which I was hoping that they would not test me before I entered the room. Then again, luckily, I could answer all her questions. Since Furumi sensei kept smiling at me throughout the exam, maybe I didnt fare badly after all. Wait, Furumi sensei always smiles...
Next one up is composition. Shit...my Japanese compo totally sucks, just like English and Chinese.
Survived one whole week of examinations. Yay/Boo.
Maths Paper 2 really sucked. Mentioned earlier 'Killer stats'. Scrap that. 'Killer Pure Maths'. I'm so freaking disappointed with myself for Maths. Cant believe that I differentiated that damn equation wrongly. Fuck. Couldnt do complex numbers also but considering many people didnt know too, I dont feel so bad. Stats was surprisingly okay for me. All except one question...Q27. What the fuck was it talking about?! Anyway, I counted the marks I've left. If I do well enough for Paper 1 and they mark Paper 2 leniently(ecf please?), I might just scrap an A. However, if they mark Paper 2 strictly, then it's bye-bye A and welcome B...I rather the first scenario obviously. Please la...I think this is the only subject I can get A in...
Today was GP. 3 minutes before the start of the paper 1, I had this queasy feeling which I felt on the day of Chemistry paper 3. On that day, I felt really queasy and vomitted just before entering the hall so I didn't really feel that sick during the paper. However, for today, I couldnt possibly leave the hall just 3 minutes before the paper starts so I basically did my paper while digging my nails into my knees. In case if you're wondering...no, I'm not masochistic. That's my method of relieving pain, which is to inflict more pain. Wait, maybe I'm masochistic. Anyway, I wrote the damn intro 4 freaking times. Fuck. Plus, I think like half the people who took the exam did the same question as me. Double fuck. First time I wrote so much for a mere essay. 6 pages...but I still felt like as if I was writing crap.
Paper 2 was much better as I felt better during the paper. Maybe it's because of looking at the boys who were swimming in the pool outside the hall. Just kidding, I didnt even bother leaving the hall to use the surely crowded toilets. Talked for a while before the paper started. Cant believe Li Ming did the sports question. Anyway, Paper 2 started. Miss Too and Kymberlyn sure have this ability to predict exam questions. I remember the last consultation we had, Miss Too was saying that in 2002(or was it 2003?), Cambridge gave a 1 passage comprehension and Kym said that maybe this year might come out also-jokingly. Then...it really came out. WTF? Super brains! The passage was surprisingly easy but the questions sucked. Especially the statements thing. After I wrote the statements, I had no space to explain them. Is Cambridge on a saving paper campaign? The lines were freaking narrow and straight after the lines was the next question. Plus, they only gave 2 pages for AQ. Where got enough?! In the end, I wrote on the blank pages too and used both of them. Oh, there was no 'compare with your country' part in the AQ. I think the examiners also sian after reading so many years of information regarding Singapore. On the other hand, composition had lots of Singapore-related questions. Weird.
After the papers, I tried calling my father. What else? To ask him to pick me up from school. Called 3 times but he didnt pick up his phone. It was only until I walked to the freaking far away MRT station then only he called me back. So in the end, I took the MRT train with Eileen, Donna and Weiling. We basically talked crap in the MRT and I laughed at Donna because she finishes her exams on the 24th!!! Then again, today was her first paper.
Went to Orchard with my sister after GP. Then to Raffles Place where I waited 1 freaking hour for this person. Fuck. I really hate waiting for people. 5-10 minutes I dont mind. If it's half-an-hour, just get prepared to be scolded by me. Then again, I dont mind a nice treat. 1 hour...fuck la. Think I so free is it? So I left for Bugis to collect my v-u-den calendar. Charmy looks so pretty!!! 'Charmy Charmy I Love Me!' So anyway, being the nice person that I am, I went back to Raffles Place to meet that person again...
Since we were both tired, my sister and I decided to take a taxi home. Is today 'Bring your kids out' day or something like that? There were sooooo many babies in town! There's this very cute Caucasian toddler called Lucas(yup, I'm paedophilic...cannot ar?), this luohan fish look-a-like baby and many more. Seriously, town never looked so wonderful before.
While in the taxi, we passed by this road where we saw a...a...a chicken on the loose! It wasnt on a lease or anything and there was no one looking after. The security guard in the shop just looked at the chicken without bothering to catch it even though it was hopping on the steps. Then...it started to walk, or rather, hop down the steps and was close to the road when we drove off...'Why did the chicken cross the road?' Okay, I'm being idiotic here...but it was really really hilarious. I think the taxi driver thought that we were mad or something. Or maybe only me because I made lots of noises.
Physics on Monday...FUCK. SHIT.
Ok, I'm supposed to be on a hiatus but who cares. I just cant resist the temptation of my laptop. Anyway, I've went without touching the computer for 4 days...and that's a freaking long period of time considering I used to use the computer once/twice/thrice the whole day every day.
Tuesday was Maths Paper 1. Surprisingly, for the first time in my JC life, I could do every question! Well, maybe not all but most. Then again, whether my answers were correct or not is yet another story. I'm really happy with myself for being able to do that sickening-everytime-also-cannot-do 3D-trigo question. One and only time I could solve a 3D-trigo question...although I solved part 1 only, not bad already la for me.
Today was Chemistry Paper 3. Dont even want to think about it. Horrible! I didnt know how to do one whole freaking question! And that Food Chemistry thingy. For Q13, all that AC didnt spot all came out. 'Yay'. Then again, overall, it wasnt as bad as Prelims. In prelims, I didnt know how to do a single question. For 'A's, not that bad lar...
Tomorow's Maths Paper 2. Killer stats...then again, not as bad as next week. Physics. Mdm said go through mock paper again before entering the hall for Physics. The problem is...I didnt go for the mock...'yay' again.
'A' Levels has just started for like 1 day and I've already planned my holiday schedule. I'm like more into the holiday mood than studying man...this is bad. So basically this is my holiday plan :
18 Nov : End of 'A' Levels. For me at least. Watch Harry Potter with Kym.
19-22 Nov : Erm, Japanese exams. Shit la, after 'A's still got this. I'm scared of oral examinations.
23 Nov : My sister's 17th birthday. Should I buy a present? Hmmn...I'll give her a sloppy William-like kiss instead. :D
23-28 Nov : OMG, Japan! Just knew about this today. Woo hoo! Going with Jane and her family. Yeah man, go get fat.
1 Dec : Start work at Mr Peh there. Then again, not very clear also.
29 Nov-5 Dec : Preparation for Senior's Night? Buy from Japan maybe? Like real man, that would be shitty expensive. Oh ya, plus, lose the excess weight I predict I'll put on in Japan.
6 Dec : Senior's Night. Must remember to bring camera.
Rest of holiday : Erm, either work(see 1 Dec) or slack. Slack=shopping. Anyone available?
24 Dec : Christmas party? Maybe have maybe not.
Ok, after I planned November and December, I just realised that I've holidays up till March 2006 before D-day comes. Shit, need more planning here. Yup, I think I should just work. Fun anyway. Reason because where there's people, there's always gossip. And I'm a big gossiper. Haha.
